A challenging vintage in the Southern Rhone, but one that favored lower tannin, softer and silkier styles of wine. A decent spring, with good flowering and fruit set. In mid July storms came through the south, soaking the region. By the end of August, things were back on track with vineyards drying out and developing good flavors. September was gorgeous, and, as it so often does, made the vintage. Still rigor at the sorting table was a must this vintage.
