Brunswick Designer Countertop Support Bracket - Federal Brace - Proudly Made in America (16", Unfinished)

I was in need of support after my installers said my hidden knee support wouldn’t work. After much research online with little confidence, I ordered these braces anyway In hopes it would work for my 2x4 half wall/15 inch of overhang. I installed 4 brackets today with 1/4 in hex 2.5 in lag screws from a big box store and they’re as sturdy as they can be. I removed my temporary 2x4 braces the installers left since installation and nailed the bottom screw into a stud and top 2 screws into my double 2x4 headers at the top of the wall against m drywall. So far so good! Will let them settle for a few weeks and update should anything change.

I ordered two (2) of these brackets, which were advertised to be 90 degrees. The brackets I received were both 88 degrees. Also, the slot weld on one of the brackets was only 1/8” long, and the result was a failure of the bracket when the granite bar top was placed. All this made for a long afternoon of grinding and re-welding. Very disappointed. I expected much better quality control at this price point.

I bought the stainless version. It is very attractive, square, and obviously very sturdy. I am using this for wood counter tops, so I needed to drill mounting holes in the un-drilled half. The stainless is mild enough steel that it was easy to drill.

I installed the Brunswick Bracket Support and they worked great. A little bit more expensive compared to others, but the difference is quality and loads the brackets can handle. I bought 4 and only 1 out of the 4 was not a true 90 degree angle. All the others were almost perfect and I was able to install all 3 of them perfectly leveled.

Good sturdy quality but the size I ordered didn't come in mat black, so I had to paint it myself.

Excellent quality thick 1/4 inch, perfect on my outdoor kitchen cabinets granite countertop with 10 inch overhang . Highly recommend

This is an insanely expensive bracket. But, it is robustly designed, perfectly constructed, and beautifully finished. So, if you're sick of dealing with big box chinese crap, you'll be happy you paid the price for the BEST.

This is for a raw steel product which is not communicated online. The image for "steel color" looks black but it arrived unfinished and burn marks visible. Be aware, you will need to paint the brace yourself.
