I've only used the soap a few times so perhaps I should have waited before reviewing, but I've been wet shaving for years and have used a wide variety of soaps and creams and feel like I can make a good judgement even if it's quick. I was intrigued by this soap due to the great reviews and excellent ingredients list. The soap does perform decently, but I wouldn't put it in my top 10. I loved sandalwood & vanilla, but the scent of this soap is off somehow. It's not a nice smooth sandalwood scent, but it is mild so it's not a deal breaker. I'd say the performance is good, but just not great. It lathers fairly easily and the lather was easy to control for thickness so you get nice cushioning, but the glide is just ok. The soap also seemed to take a bit more to rinse away although that is not a dealbreaker either. Given the reviews and ingredients list, I was excited to try this soap, but overall I think it's less than the sum of its parts. Unfortunately I've tried too many other top notch soaps to give this one 5 stars.

Creamy long lasting lather. Works great for Shaving 🪒 everything. I purchased the non scented version of this soap. I am used to the pucks that you can put in shaving soap bowls. This one is a softer more lushes lather that comes in a plastic tub with a screw on cap. I prefer this type of tallow shaving soap over the other types of soaps I have used.This soap, you can slightly smell the tallow because it is non scented. But it’s great! If fragrance isn’t your thing, or you don’t like some of the more many smelling options they have, this is a great choice!I do wish they offered a more feminine smelling soap though. Maybe a lavender or sage and orange would be nice.Because this is a softer soap, I am curious how long it is going to last me. So far... it’s been reasonable. The amount of lather is worth it though.

I have used Taylor of Old Bond Street, Colonel Conk's, Poraso, and Wet Shave Product soaps before, so this review is in comparison to those. I like this soap! I got the Black Tux scent, and when it arrived I opened it, smelled it, and wanted to send it back immediately - it smelled like clay mud to me. I figured I would give it a try anyway to see if the performance changed my mind about liking it, and the first few times I used it I was disappointed. BUT - after experimenting I learned that the scent improved by letting it bloom (I add hot water to the container and let it sit for a few minutes before using it) and I figured out that the soap needs more water than what I was used to using. After a few weeks of shaving with the adjustments, I really like the soap a lot now. It does give my face a tingle, which some may describe as a burning sensation (or it may be more intense for some than others), but I like it as it feels more refreshing than burning to me. Making sure to use plenty of water gives it a nice lather and it is slick enough to avoid cuts. I like it as much or more than any of the others I have used in the past, and it's a great price point. I will probably buy again, but will try a different scent - I love that there are so many scent options.

I purchased this shaving puck for my husband, and honestly I love every time he puts it on. the scent is so long lasting and not at all overpowering. I have bought from this seller before and received a quality puck, so when that one went out, I knew to come back and get another. I have now purchased 3 pucks from this seller and every time, its just as amazing as I hope for. the puck is so easy to use, provides a great lather on my husbands brush. and one puck can last several months, such a money saver compared to shave gels and foams!

One thing you need to know off the bat is that this shaving soap is clearly designed for performance, but the smell. I got the coffee scent, and I’ll be honest, it doesn’t smell even slightly like coffee. The rendered fat used in this product has a distinct smell that is going to be prevalent no matter how they try to jazz it up.That being said, this is a PHENOMENAL product. It produces a slick, comfortable lather that nourishes your skin as you shave. I use it for my straight razor shaving on my face and for when I shave my head. It may not have the smell of a Proraso, but it’s performance makes this shaving soap a steal at this price point.

I get the slight grittyness i think its clay or something but to me the smell is leatherlike but not quite right. My best description is if your grandma wore leather pants. Its like a mix of rosewater and leather-ish smell. With a safety razor i found it to have a bit too much drag. at least for me

I bought this for a stocking stuffer for my hubby and he loves it. I love the smell of it also.

The scent is subtle, and pleasant. It has a good lather and leaves my husbands face feeling smooth after his shave. Will purchase again.
