GREAT SWITCH. NO NEED FOR WIFI!
I am fixing up a rental apt with some crazy old school electrical wiring. One of the ceiling fixtures had constant power to the light with no light switch. There are not many nice fixtures with chain pulls so I bought a nicer light and purchased this. Because it is a rental I cannot expect all tenants to be tech experts, so the fact that it does not use WIFI was key. The receiver box is just small enough to fit inside the average ceiling fixture box. Took 5 extra minutes to wire it in between the ceiling box and my new fixture - remote switch worked instantly. PERFECT. no hassles. If you are in a similar situation, I cannot recommend enough. GREAT PRODUCT.

Makes your fan light usable even by those who can't reach the pull cord. Easy install.
Great solution. The receiver was small enough to fit in the light kit box (typical 3 light kit made of metal) even with all the other wires and nuts in there. The switch works good and has enough range to control from anywhere in my 2 story home. The magnetic switch bracket has adhesive strips on the back to stick to the wall which makes for a good storage spot and prevents having to look for the transmitter every time you want to change lighting. The back of the transmitter comes off so you can replace the battery when needed.

great !!!
installed for my mother so she could turn fan on and off without reaching up. She is having trouble lifting her arms that high as she is getting older. This remote works great! and was easy to install for someone who has basic handyman understanding. If you can change a light switch or outlet plug then you can install this remote.

A Great Value for the Price and a Cool Project Device, Though Insufficient for Home Automation
Pros: Easy to install, affordable, works well and highly functional, convenient.Cons: No WiFi connectivity or home automation API.As a home automation enthusiast, I was really excited to try this wireless switch for the lights in my living room. After receiving it in the mail I found that it didn't meet my expectations, but it has a nice space in my home. The big drawback to this device is that it lacks any kind of WiFi connectivity or API that are required for connecting to home automation systems, meaning that it can only be controlled using the remote that comes in the package. That said, this product is a third of the price of the nearest competitor that includes the WiFi connectivity and it does require a lot of the same experience to install. If you're looking to test the waters of adding functionality to controlling the lights in your house at an entry-level price, then this device is a perfect starting point. This is also a flexible device that I ultimately ended up using as a project to modify a lamp in my bedroom.Unlike other devices, the LoraTap doesn't replace your existing switch. Rather, it is installed directly into the fixture of the device you want to control. It's a simple passthrough where you hook the wires for the bulb on one side and the wires for the house/lamp on the other, then leave the device inside of the fixture. Because of the open format (not being a wall switch, but rather a simple passthrough), this can be installed onto any light at all. It is important to note that in order for the device to work that the power for the light must be on at all times as this is a secondary switch installed between the main switch and the light which you will be able to control remotely. This is exactly why I find it so much more useful inside of my lamp, given that it is easier to leave a lamp in the power on state all the time vs a home light fixture that is connected to a switch which may be turned on or off by anyone not thinking about this switch. In addition to being a great project device, I have to say that I was astoundingly happy with the support from LoraTap. They reached out to me directly, they were helpful and thoughtful. This type of product support makes a real difference and I've experienced it a few times in the past year or so from other companies, and each time these pro-active companies have become my very favorite. As a whole, this device doesn't meet my needs as an enthusiast, but I cannot wait for LoraTap to create a similar device that I can use with WiFi, and I was definitely able to use it in cool creative ways. It's a great value for the price, and I would recommend it to users who know what they're buying.

More reliable than your typical 433mhz remote control switch
These Loratap devices use LoRa communication protocol in the 915mhz band. In my experience, they are MUCH more reliable and responsive than any of my other switches (which use 433mhz without LoRa).Another benefit of the Loratap devices is that they remember the switch state after a power failure. This feature is essential for my needs, and Loratap is the only brand I've found that does that. All the other remote control switches revert to OFF after a power failure (not talking about wi-fi/smart switches, just basic wireless remote control switches). The hard-wired relay is tiny and should easily fit in a modern junction box. Some Loratap plug adapters let you pair the ON and OFF buttons separately (could be useful in some situations), however this relay appears to pair them both together (what most people are probably expecting). My only nitpick is that Loratap doesn't have a remote control in a standard form factor, like a decora-style rocker. Nothing wrong with the round magnetic-back remote control, it's small and works well. But if they made something that fit behind a standard switch plate (with or without the wall box), I would buy a bunch of them.

Just What I Needed
I used this unit to make an always-hot light fixture switchable. (Old house, weird wiring.) Although the unit didn't fit inside the housing at the top of the pendent fixture (because this was not a ceiling fan), we had to make do. But I think if I had researched a little further I could have found a housing to add to the pendant light which would have hidden the module easily. It's not very large, but pendants are not made with this sort of fix in mind. Certainly not the fault of the manufacturer. Now I can switch my light on and off in the kitchen and have perfect task lighting. And it was simple to install. Even provided its own small screwdriver in case I hadn't had one. Been trying to fix this situation for 20 years without resorting to a pricey electrician visit. Now I am happy!
