The Testament of Sister New Devil STORM! Vol. 1 Paperback – September 26, 2017

I like the original Testament of Sister New Devil series so I was interested in seeing what STORM! was like. My original thought was that it might be an extended version of the comedy backup Go For It Maria Chan! As it turns out, this is retelling the saga, only now it is much stronger on the fanservice. We do see Mio and Yuki topless and getting into situations in which Basara is compelled to ease their aroused states, We also see how Maria looks after Mio works her over after one of her stunts (I can only conclude Maria knows great recovery spells). It is curious that Maria, our most sexually obsessed cast member, keeps her clothes on in this volume. While I am a fan of the original series, this one did not overwhelm me. Somehow, the very suggestive mode of The Testament of Sister New Devil is more fun than the R-rated STORM!. I think of another series I like, How To Build A Dungeon. It was presented from the start as being an explicit series, so I accept its strong sexual content. STORM! felt different. It was like walking in on friends while they are engaged in intimate acts and feeling more embarrassed than aroused. I will continue to read the original series but I doubt I will read STORM's remaining volumes.
