The frame is made of durable PVC tubing that can be used for cross-stitch, embroidery, quilting, needlepoint, silk-painting etc. The size is the external size of the frame is about 10" x 12" (including corners) and actual work area is approx 9" x 11". To use, remove the clips from the frame, lay the fabric over the frame and gently place the clips over the fabric then push down to secure over the tube. The ribbed inner surface of the clamps hold the tension for your preferred adjustment. Simply rotate the clips outwards to tighten, and inwards to release the tension. Work can be moved around to give the option of stitching larger designs. The frame can be wiped clean using warm soapy water. Very easy to use. (photos for demonstration purposes only). Exists in 5.9"x5.9", 8"x8", 8"x9.8", 12"x12", 9.8"x13.8" & in stand 14"x12"x10" USER NOTICE. Prior to first use, it is recommended that you slide out the clamps from the tubes and assure of the tightness needed for your specific material. Clamps can be forced open or shut, which may be necessary if you plan on using a thick or thin fabric without affect to the hold. Please always place and remove the clamp carefully to avoid damages.

great for projects
great for projects ! Love it for all types of needlework and i think it works better then an embroidery hoop !

Too heavy, clips are loose
I like this larger size and style but the frame is too heavy to manage and the clips are loose and move too much. I have another smaller frame in this style for small projects that I like a lot. I ended up going back to my hoop and returning the item.

While I like this style
I was looking for an embroidery hoop that would replace the spring loaded hoops that I've always used. While I like this style, I found it to be too heavy to manage while also trying to stitch.

Easy to put together.
Arrived on due date. BaouRouge Rectangular Universal Clip Frame for Embroidery, Quilting, Cross-stitch, Needlepoint, Silk-painting, etc - 20cm x 25cm (7.8" x 9.8"). Excellent value for money. Great quality. A bit heavier than I thought it would be. Easy to put together.

Good but too lightweight
U found it was the right size for me to see BUT it was too light weight. I couldn't get to hold it steady as it flipped about a lot
