Dead, completely DEAD-REVISED REVISED.
I couldn't wait to try this player. But after charging for 16 hours and it's still at zero, somethings wrong. So, since it won't do anything, I'll pack it up and return. Ok, so I got a replacement lotoo paw 5000. This one works perfectly. I will say it does take some time to get use to the UI, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy. Now, I did have an issue getting my high rez files to play. So I reformatted my 256gb samsung card, and instead of putting all my Hi res files in one swoop, I put on 1 folder at a time. After that was done, I downloaded my iTunes library. ALL IS WIRKING GREAT NOW. And the sound is unbelievable. Really. It's on par with my onkyo dp x1a. The x1a has a wider Soundstage but, of course, it costs twice as much.

sound
this little player sounds really good. I got many different high end headphones and it can handle all of them. the eq adjustments are really good but what I really like is the display of the music . reminds me of studio displays.. very satisfied with the quality

Simple interface, light and great battery. Sound quality good for this price
Can handle big memory, but song quantity is limited. Random is not so good.

20,000 song limit
I purchased this unit along with a 256GB memory card to replace an aging IPOD 160GB Classic. I liked the thumb wheel and speed of it for large music libraries. The unit works ok and sounds ok and it would be good but it has a song limit of 20,000. I can fit more than 50,000 mp3's on the memory card and the PAW 5000 cannot read more than half of them. I actually have more than 100,000 WAV files in my library and wanted a unit to play as many mp3's as I could fit on the new card. I sent a question to Lotoo about why only part of the card was being read, this is after reformatting and reloading 200+ GB of songs several times(it takes a while), and was informed that the unit can only process 20,000 songs. I never saw this spec and still haven't seen it published anywhere. Why advertise 2TB memory card capable but only allow 20,000 songs. At the same time I purchased the PAW 5000 I purchased a very cheap mp3 player to try and it has no problem recognizing the card in its entirety or the file structure, but it takes a long time to scroll through the artists. Also Lotoo said the PAW 5000 should really only be used to play HiRes files and not mp3's. I'm not sure why it is capable of playing mp3's then and shame on me for wanting to do my own thing. The unit may be pretty good if it could deal with a lot more files than it does. Good luck with your 300.00 dollar product when a 30.00 dollar unit does it better and has more features. We returned the Lotoo PAW 5000, but if the song limit is increased dramatically we may consider another purchase.JK

After only about 10 hours of use the volume fades in and out. I use shuffle play and the unit chooses several songs over and over again.

This is an amazing portable player
This is an amazing portable player. Period. Regardless of whether there's a 20k song cap or otherwise, it produces very high quality music. No need to buy anything more expensive. I can't hear the difference between this player and my Cowon P1. High output so it powers many demanding headphones. It powers my HD700 just fine. Use an amp if you're a demanding enthusiast.I only have FLAC and DSD files on mine. I don't care that it can't handle 50,000 mp3's. You're shopping for the wrong players if you're playing mp3's. I use my phone to stream mp3's, not DSD players. This Lotoo serves a higher purpose.

Outstanding little player!
I bought one of these used. It isn't the most advanced player. It doesn't have a touchscreen or complicated UI. The scroll wheel makes it easy to use though. It is small, but sounds great. I have tried lots of modern DAP's costing much more, but this one is a bargain. Battery life is pretty good as well. I am getting about 10 hours of playback. I don't care about bluetooth, since you really sacrifice sound quality with most bluetooth devices. This is just a music player and it works well. I have no problems playing DSD, FLAC, or any other files on it. It boots up amazingly fast. A+++
