The spaces between the 45mm circles are not too close that the macaron shells ended up sticking together when baked. Not too far that it yields only a few shells per sheet. I am not a good cook or baker so anything that makes these tasks easier is a must for me. I love macaroons but have dealing with them sticking onto parchment paper and them never being the same size. Using the silicone mats not only makes them look more uniform but also prevents them from sticking to the pan. The mats are also super easy to wash and are totally reusable, which means no more buying parchment paper for me. Also, you could totally use this for any cookie - not just macaroons.
