Good portable branch saw, lasting well.
All the kids on my sons last week long outing had cheaper versions of this. The ones that look like a wire with grit. This was the one they all used for the week. Held up very well, got a lot of use and helped them stay warmer with bigger branches than they might have had otherwise. Would buy again

The 5 stars are fake...don't be fooled. this item has the capacity to cut through about 4 inches of tree easily enough. ( youre still in for a workout ) the only reason I gave it 2 is because it is small and light weight. all in all not worth much more than the 10$ I paid for it.

False Reviews
I gave it a one star to be fair. I read a lot of reviews and very seldom do you find a product that is reviewed by 35 people and all give it 5 stars. When you look a little better, not a single one is an Amazon verified purchase and all but maybe three people have no other reviews, only this one. Obviously they are not genuine reviews. Maybe the product is good, but this is very deceptive advertising practice.

Surprisingly good for a very good price
First I'll tell you the reason I was looking for something like this. A few years ago my wife and I were car camping near the Northern Cascades in a very rural part of Washington State. We were in a rental car and way down a fire road. When it was time to pack up and leave, we rounded a curve in the road to find that in the time since we had passed, a medium sized tree had fallen across the road. It was too big to go over and with no way around and the light starting to fade, I was sizing up my options, trying to remember "How many miles back did we see the last house?" Not a pretty picture. Fortunately for us, another group of campers arrived before I had to make that trek, and they had a chain saw. Now I've got a good story to tell, with no scars to show! But if they hadn't....Anyway, I was skeptical about the quality of the Badger when I saw the price but this thing is solidly constructed. The teeth are super sharp and it really chews right through the wood in no time. I'm convinced that if I was ever in that situation again I'd be able to saw my own way out of it.It is really small and lightweight too. I'm getting two more to leave in the spare tire area of both cars. Having the right tool for the job, when you need it, can make the difference between trapped for who knows how long and "Whew! That was a close one!"

this is a great little gadget
If you have trees to prune, this is a great little gadget. For the big stuff I use a chainsaw, but in some situations--actually, a lot of situations--I don't need to be wielding something so cumbersome and dangerous, as with the smaller limbs higher up in the tree. Normally, I would then grab a machete or handsaw. But the problem with a machete is you need a big swinging area, often not available higher in the tree. With a handsaw the angle is imperative and you need a lot of arm work. Well, here comes the Badger pocket chainsaw and I can easily use my weight to do the cutting at angles in the tree that are manageable. In the end it's a lot safer to cut with if you use your weight correctly and use your angles correctly. And when climbing a ladder, or the tree, you leave it in it's pouch. So what's safer in the end? Climbing with a handsaw or machete, or this thing in it's pocket? I find it a must in my pruning quiver.
