Clayton Ultem Guitar Picks (Select From Gauge .38mm - 1.20mm)

A great inexpensive alternative to tortis or tortoise shell picks.
This is one of my favorite plectrums. It is incredibly durable and will show almost no wear after tons of use. It has very limited flex, which I consider to be a good characteristic in a pick for most applications. This pick does not slip easily in the grasp, the texture allows it to be held firmly and comfortably for long periods of time. The tone produced by this is quite near to tortis shell, or to the very expensive Tortis brand protien polymer picks (from Red Bear Trading which mimics real hawkbill tortis shell almost identically). The tone from this pick is very crisp with balanced overtones and quick attack. The shape is the all time classic. Dollar for dollar this is one the very best all around picks out there. Now go play yer' guitar!

Great tone and great feel...
When I decided to explore strumming with a pick and flat picking, I did extensive experimentation with many different picks. These produced the absolute best tone for me- bright, crisp and penetrating. These Ultems are durable and represent a good value. I've lost a few of them, but haven't broken or worn out any of them. The finger feel is fairly sure, though, in the dry winter months, I dipped the grip ends in Plasti Dip for a super secure feel. Can't go wrong with these!

Bright and scratchy
The picks are well made, but compared to the Dunlop ultex 1.0 picks they have a much more pointed tip, much brighter, but a really plastic sounding bright, not pleasant. Also, they are very easy to hold but are very scratchy sounding. I was using them on my Eastman AC322CE acoustic guitar. I played them for a half-hour and pitched them. First pick I have ever bought that I would not recommend.

Hard to get in some thicknesses
I love the way these feel and sound, but some sizes are almost never in stock, and they wear out pretty fast. I will continue to use them because I have not found anything I like better.

Great Picks... not so easy to find
I wish Clayton made more of these so they weren't so scarce. Great picks, great note clarity, just enough 'spring' for strumming an acoustic. I developed a problem being able to hold them after I began fingerpicking, (developed a hard callous on my thumb) but I bought some "Picker's Grip" and no longer have any grip issues. Now I can play the claytons again and they sound and feel AWESOME

Improving a classic
Here's the first real improvement on Fender's classic heart-shape picks. All they did was make that classic shape a little bigger, and make it out of a material with a durable matte surface. The slightly scratchy surface makes notes "pop" a bit until it wears down some. I love this pick and now use it and the similar Clayton Raven pick exclusively. Great for both strumming and picking on acoustic and electric guitars, and particularly good for acoustic lead work.

My pick for picks
I really like Clayton guitar picks, and these are no exception. I got 72's for playing an acoustic guitar (Takamine 307S from the lawsuit period) with extra light strings, and it's the perfect thickness and produces a clean crisp tone. I'd say they're pretty similar to the Dunlop Ultex except are a little less flexible and easier to hold on to. Great price too.

più di metà storti
sarà la caratteristica del materiale particolare, ma 8 su 12 sono storti e non proprio piatti. Meglio esaminare uno a uno a negozi fisici.

Best pick
Can’t play other picks anymore. When I do, something is missing.
