My Keepsake Bible
My Keepsake Bible by Sally Ann Wright is a treasury of Bible stories, prayers, and family history. Each of the Bible stories are one or two pages with wonderful illustrations by Honor Ayres. They cover some of the best known stories from the Bible, simplified for a young child, but still true to Scripture. The prayers are short and simple, and I appreciate that either Scripture reference or author attribution is given. These are all wonderful to read to young children, and familiarize them with the Christian faith. It book itself is a padded hardcover that is 8.3 x 6.3 x 0.6 inches---perfect for a young child to carry. This particular edition is suitable for girls and boys. What grabbed my attention, though, is the section for family records and personal milestones. When I was younger, I loved looking through our illustrated family Bible, and was particularly fascinated by the genealogy recorded and the records kept. I also loved reading through my baby book to see what my mom had written about my "firsts". This Bible is a very good combination of both, and a way to teach a child about their immediate family, and explain that the child is also connected to the family of God. It gives a sense of belonging that is so vital in making a child feel secure and loved.I received a copy of this book from Tyndale Publishers at no cost to myself for review purposes. I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own.

My Keepsake Bible is a treasure!
I'm so excited to be a mother. I'm already looking for ways that we can integrate talking about God and the Bible into Baby G's life. I was so pleased to have a chance to review My Keepsake Bible by Sally Ann Wright. My Keepsake Bible is a beautiful storybook that is perfect for serving as introduction to the Bible for little ones. This darling, just-the-right-size book is already a hit in our house. I'm very pleased by the padded cover because even at just 3 months, my son likes to grab things so I appreciate the cushioning that My Keepsake Bible provides.I was so impressed by the way that stories are presented in a clear, well-condensed manner that is totally appropriate for children and manages to convey the meaning behind the story. We want Baby G to have knowledge of God and the Bible as early as possible and My Keepsake Bible manages to tell difficult and intense stories in a way that would not be terribly upsetting to little ones.We read from this book every day and my son loves the artwork and I don't blame him. The artwork is bright without being garish and the pictures add to the overall storytelling of My Keepsake Bible. One of my favorite parts of My Keepsake Bible are the sections that allow me to record information about him. There are sections for his "firsts, " birth information and even a family tree section. I always loved seeing those in my grandparent's Bibles and it's a wonderful treat to be able to make that for my son. I would have liked more room to include more relatives. My favorite thing about My Keepsake Bible is that it will be a lovely keepsake for Baby G to have when he grows up. But, it's not just a keepsake itself, it's helping to create memories of sharing God's word with my son. I'm sure that we will spend many happy moments of his childhood reading it.(I was provided this book from the Tyndale Blog Network for this review, however all opinions are our own.)

Would make a lovely gift, too!
My Keepsake Bible by Sally Ann Wright compiles Bible stories and prayers along with room to record milestones in your child's life. This is a sturdy padded hardcover book. It measures about 8x6 inches which is an ideal size to read together cuddled up at bedtime. The illustrations are vivid and attention grabbing. The familiar stories like Jonah and the Great Fish, Daniel and the Lions Den are included. As well as stories that do not often appear in children's Bible story books such as the story of Gideon and the Lord providing for the Prophet Elijah. I enjoyed reading the prayers that are based on actual Bible verses. I found that detail to be particularly edifying as I consider it to be necessary to pray according to the Truth in the Word of God.What makes this Bible storybook a keepsake is that there is room to record your child's milestones as well as document your family tree. Doesn't that make it extra special? There is a dedicatory page and a table of contents which I thought was really helpfulMy 5 year old daughter loves Bible story books. She enjoyed the stories of Samuel and David and Goliath as well as the prayers. I would recommend My Keepsake Bible, as it would be a great addition to any library and a great gift for a loved one.Tyndale House Publishers has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book. - See more at: http://www.tyndaleblognetwork.com/5_nav/guidelines.php#sthash.y47bxsU3.dpuf
