Spider-Man 3: Interactive Spider-Man Figure with Room Guard Feature 9"

My 5 year old received this from Santa for Christmas and he is still playing with it. He loves how it activates when someone enters his room. It gives him a sense of ownership of his room and his belongings. He likes to enter the "secret code" to disarm Spider-Man to allow his little sister into his room most of the time. Other times (like when he's at school), he'll activate it in hopes of spooking her! :) All in all, a cute toy...

If you MUST buy one Spider-Man 3 toy, it should be this one. Nevermind the fact that it's supposed to be a "room guard", the Spidey figure itself is worth spending the cash for. This Spidey is very articulated and poseable, and it isn't only 5 inches tall like Hasbro's putrid Spidey 3 figures. If you don't even care about the motion-detecting stand, you can dump it and keep the awesome action figure (the room guard feature stinks anyway, it doesn't even use Tobey Maguire's voice). Although there are two large pegs on the bottoms of the figure's feet to help it stand on its base, they're attached to the figure with screws, so get ahold of a small screwdriver (the kind that come with eyeglass repair kits) and unscrew them. The pegs are also held on by a bit of adhesive, but don't be afraid to pull them off once the screws are removed. Once you've pulled them off, you've got a kickass super-articulated Spidey figure that can stand on its own and be posed in many positions and stances. THANK YOU THINKWAY, AND SCREW HASBRO!

Bought this for my son (3), and I think it is too old for him. Although he loves to take Spider-man off the base and play with it. The room guard feature will be better as he gets older.
