DK Top 10 Munich (Pocket Travel Guide) Paperback – Folded Map, February 28, 2023

I return to DK Eyewitness Pocket series over & over again. Quite simply because it hits the essentials & eliminates the non-essential in a slim, small package that doesn't take up much space in my day bag.The Munich guide was spot on. It is handy for reading on the trip, such as on the plane or at night. The map was great, as it helped visualize distance. I had done plenty of research in advance, but it's good to review plans -- and pictures -- while in situ, and this guide does that. It's perfect as a go-to when plans change, which happened on my trip. I was able to pivot quickly and create an itinerary that not only worked, but was perfect for me. I didn't feel like I missed a day -- or waste a time planning -- because I had this guide with me and was quickly able to identify museums of interest.I just returned from Munich but I am already planning my next trip. First purchase for my next trip... DK Eyewitness guides.

I love all the DK top 10 travel books. So helpful with city transportation options. I also like the section on local customs on restaurant tipping guidelines.

There are a zillion guides to Germany, Bavaria and Munich. Surprisingly, many of them are incomplete or their coverage is cursory. I like this book because it is so comprehensive. It really DOES mention almost everything. There are down sides. First, the descriptions are extremely brief, sometimes amounting to only a sentence or even just a phrase. Second, there is a complete lack of contexts that are present in other traditional travel guides. So while you'll have the lists of most everything here, don't expect any kind of evaluation, recommendation, or curation.

We hope to travel to Munich some day and this book will be a great resource.

Very informative and helpful

I saw the headline on the amazon site for this book saying is was published on February 28,2023 so I bought it right away. I have always been pleased with DK travel books.The book arrived today. Published in 2005. Most entries do not even include website addresses!!Sure, now that I am disappointed and the owner of a 2005 guide book, I see the detailed description near the bottom of the listing says published in 2005.I feel I was mislead. What a waste.

Great maps, really solid descriptions and lots of photos. Highly recommend!
