Ended up ordering these three times to get the size right
See them bottom for updates.First I ordered the medium, and I love the gloves except that there is a skinny elastic strap on the inside across the back of the hand that cut into my hand. Otherwise the sizing was perfect. So I sent them back and got the larges. The larges were way too big. So I sent the large ones back and ordered the mediums again. This time, I simply took my seam ripper and ripped out the stitching holding the skinny elastic that cuts into my hand, and then sewed back up the seam openings on the sides where the elastic had been.Except for that elastic, I would have given these gloves five stars for the value and the quality and the comfort and the fit.Edit: these gloves, despite the suede like neoprene palms, are not even the slightest bit water resistant, and the palms get and stay soggy in damp soil. Downgrading by one star, although thankfully they dry quickly-ish in direct sun.Second edit, after a year:Downgraded another star because, in addition to easily getting soggy with handling any damp material, these gloves allow all fine dust through them as well. I wear work gloves to, among other things, keep my fingers from getting filthy while doing yard work. These are useful to prevent blisters but almost nothing else.

Great! STRONG reinforced index finger! Glove size runs small.
YES! I have had these gardening "digger gloves" for four days now, and have challenged their durability by spending several hours each day pulling miles of dollar weed --- which involves digging under and pulling up the lengthy root system with my index finger. So far, these "digger gloves" have withstood the test with NO HOLE IN THE INDEX FINGER! Over several decades of gardening, I have found this to be the standard problem with any of the many (many!) gardening gloves I have owned. While I will be surprised if these last more than one year of hard labor, I do suspect they will be the most long-lasting gardening gloves I have ever owned!*** Important note: The size apparently runs small. I usually wear a medium; these are a large, and are slightly tight.

Finally gloves that fit!
I am an urban farmer and received these gloves for Christmas-- they are well made, fit my average sized hands well and the price was decent, esp if they hold up the entire season-- I went through 4 or 5 pair of $5 gloves from a big box shop last yr-- these are leather tipped-- I've used them to rake leaves, haul lumber, shovel, climb ladders, and in the wet cold rain-- even in the cold wet, my hands stayed warm. I purchased a size medium and wear a size 8 ring and they were initially snug I didn't close the velcros straps and after a few afternoons they stretched well enough to completely close the straps. I do wish the palm stitching was done with a more durable thread, mine have already broken and frayed-- doesn't affect use or effectiveness, I just hope they hold out for the season. Very pleased.

Great Mother's Day Gift.
Wife: Saves me from blisters while working with garden tools without really getting in the way. Keeps hands very dexterous, i.e., able to feel and pick up small things. Used my first pair for 3 years before buying this second pair. Also bought a gray pair for hubby Alan. These hold up very well for anything. Love the snug but stretchy fit, plus the terry wipe for my forehead. Easy on and off, never stiff. Used mostly for hand weeding in gravel mulch, so after 3 years, some holes developed in the finger tips of my right hand glove. Then dirt got in. I think I paid $28 for the last pair, so the $20 I paid this time was a bargain. I also used these to pull leaves out of the pool skimmer basket. Didn't want to feel any creepy crawlies I might find in there. By far better than the cheaper ones I've used before from nurseries, Walgreens or Home Depot. Great gift for a gardener.

Still digging and sparking joy three years later.
As a long time gardener these are a great choice. Good fitting, well made pair of garden gloves for a reasonable price. This morning they transplanted, pushed damp leaf compost through a screen, shoveled compost onto a new bed, moved a few earthworms out of harm's way and kept my hands clean and reasonably dry. Since I hate dirt getting down into my gloves (sorta like sand in your pants) I like that these have a good velcro closure. I have a big garden and I use garden gloves for at least a couple of hours every day. I have numerous pairs and most only last a season or so. These seem durable enough to last several seasons. I like to wash my gloves every so often and these are machine washable. I have gotten them soaking wet and there's no shrinking in the fingers, which sometimes occurs with leather gloves. I tried to order a second pair but Amazon was sold out of my size. HIGHLY Recommend.Edit three years later. After doing a ruthless Marie Kondo clean out of the garden glove pile, I'm down to the essentials that spark joy. That's two pairs of these Womanswork stretch garden gloves. I'm re-ordering another pair. The two pairs that I purchased three years ago are still going, but I like to have several pairs in case a pair gets so wet and dirty I need to switch out. These are my favorites for just about every task as far as fit, flexibility, performance, washability, and screaming loud pink so I can find them easily if I happen to drop one out of a pocket. They never get stiff and moldy like leather palmed gloves, yet the palm padding is more than adequate for almost every task. These have lasted far longer than other brands and spark more joy.
