Awesome knife by American craftmen
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Very good chef knife with distinctive looks.I'm going to compare this knife to another hand-ground knife I own, a K-Sabatier, which was in a similar price point. The K-Sab feels better in the hand (purely subjective) but the Warther is objectively better in everything else. Fit and finish is faultless: the grind is symmetric on both sides, the handles slabs have no gaps and are flush to the tang. The Warther is also using a much better class of cutlery steel. Balance point is slightly biased towards the handle, making the blade very nimble for those who cook using a pinch grip. The handle looks better in person.Sharpness, out of the box, is ok, I'm not going to deduct anything for this because I'm used to Japanese slicers with steeper edge angles. It feels like this knife has 20 degrees per side, I will take that down to 15 before putting the knife in service. The premium metal they're using is just begging for an aggressive angle.Bottom line - Buy this knife!! This is a quality knife, made in Ohio, for a decent price. You will not be sacrificing anything, for supporting US craftsmen, because you'll get a lot of knife for not much $$. If you're short on money this 7" chef knife and a paring knife will take care of 99% of all the cutting needs you have in the kitchen. Please note - the attached video is AFTER I had touched up the blade with a sharpening stone. I was trying to see how sharp I can get it.

Buy one now, thank me later.
Excellent knife! Highly recommended. Half star off for not using CTS-XHP, which is a far better steel and another half star for having handle ergonomics from 1919. Other than those two minor nitpicks I absolutely love it.
