I've been looking for some good hair sticks for a while now; I've tried plastic, wood and metal, and they're all nice... but they have their drawbacks. Plastic sometimes flexes too much, and it can slide out of hair too easily; wood is sturdy, but is prone to splintering or breaking if too much pressure is applied, and sometimes the points are a little too sharp; metal isn't the most comfortable, and the cheaper metals can also break. I've also had trouble with all of these pulling my hair, either by snagging or being unable to bypass that one... stupid... hair... during insertion. So for the price point--and the promise of a much smoother experience--I figured it was worth a try.When I got the package, I was immediately impressed by the packaging. The hair sticks came in a cute little red velvet bag. They were a little more... robust than I was expecting, but I consider this a bonus, since this means I won't have to worry about it snapping in two. Initially, I was curious if it was actually sheep horn, because it was polished so, so smoothly that it looked like a high-quality plastic. Close inspection revealed a beautiful color variation throughout each stick, and slight differences between each stick's curvature and length. I also put it through the 'dog test'--I allowed my dog to inspect one of the hair sticks. He was... confused, and intrigued; he spent a good long time sniffing it, before he tried to take the stick from me, assuming that it was a new toy for him. Goofy as it sounds, that was confirmation enough for me!So now we get to the actual use of the product: inserting the sticks into my hair is so, so smooth and easy, with NO snagging, and the carved bamboo-like texture allows it to hold very well, even though I have a LOT of hair to hold. (To give you some idea, when my hair is loose, it's a bit longer than waist-length.) The sticks are very comfortable once they're in, too; they don't 'feel' as hard as wood or metal when they're against the scalp. I will say, though, that due to the thickness of each stick, it's hard to use BOTH at the same time unless you feed them through your hair in parallel, but I've found one hair stick is plenty for a quick bun! I'll have a hard time going back to my other hair sticks.I would definitely recommend these sticks if you're looking for a unique gift for a friend, or you want something both pretty and practical for your own hair. They're great quality, and not that expensive compared to other hair sticks I found while shopping. Five stars from me!

These natural sheep horn hairsticks are shorter than the other two styles that I bought from the same seller (on Amazon). They are just as lovely as the others, but as advertised are only about 5 1/2 inches long, so I use them in my below-classic-length hair for the smaller braided buns and hairstyles for sticks; they still hold as well for these applications and they probably would do very well for children or for people with shorter or very fine or thin hair. The color is the same as for the other two styles of sheep horn sticks--goes from a very pale ivory to greenish in bright natural light, but goes through subtle changes into pale ambers and pinkish hues in artificial or otherwise changing light situations. I love them, as I do all three different styles from this seller.

I love the uniqueness of these hairsticks. I like that they are slightly different. Be aware that each stick is unique and they may not look identical. However, both are a nice length and lustre and are comfortable to wear. I cannot believe how affordable these are. Thank you.

These are nice and solid and work great in my hair. I love that I get two (I usually use only one) and they feel so nice and smooth in my hair and are not too heavy. I get compliments on them all the time at work. A must have for anyone with long hair who likes to wear it in a bun!

I love these. I started my collection first with them and they are my favorite. I need to get a back up pair in case I loose one or both. Plus I find they are a good gift.
