Very nice carving set
Very nice carving set. Box is a bit funky for a high end item. Bought for $12 through Warehouse Deals - cardboard outer box was damaged. It looks and feels like high quality-these are made in China, but of course a real Laguiole carving set runs $300 or a lot more. Comes medium sharp, but improves with proper sharpening. I am picky about quality and this is VERY acceptable for the money. My third purchase, kept for a future gift - I troll the warehouse deals, you can't go wrong.

Beware - This is not a genuine Laguiole item - but a 'made in china' reproduction
I wanted the genuine article - made in france. Not an imitation 'made in china'. I really wish merchants would list where a product is made - at least it would give me a clue whether i was buying the genuine article. I guess the price should have been the clue...

Review of Laguiole Rosewood carving set
My fiance really wanted this carving set for Christmas. At first, it was in a catalog and I tried to order it there but it was sold out. Then I thought to myself, Amazon has EVERYTHING! So I went online, found the exact set that he wanted (carefully comparing it to the picture in the catalog) and ordered it! I got it just in time for Christmas, with a nice handwritten note saying "Joyeux Noel" from Frog Du Jour! It was a nice personal touch that a customer normally doesn't get. Needless to say, my fiance LOVED the carving set! He can't wait to use it! :)

What a dissapointment!
I know there are many kindsmof Laguiole knifes, but this is so poor quality it does not have anything tomdo with the french high quality ones. Imdo not know, but I would say these are made in China. I will certainly not use them.

Cheesy Knock-off
There is no way this was a Lagioule knife set. The blade was not stamped with the brand name and the trademark bee was a rough imitation. Wooden handles seemed more like resin.
