This worked exceptionally well to de-shed my very hairy Golden Retriever. Much less costly then the typical type of shedding tool, and it seemed to pull less than those as well. We will use this from now on.

It does work, sort of. If your cat already has some mats, this will get caught on them and pull the hair out by the root rather than cutting through them. If you are lucky and your cat doesn't have any, it does work pretty well at thinning out the hair.
