Basically he couldn't wear anything that was metal, ceramic, gold, etc. This silicone ring is light weight, causes him no irritation, looks good, and as a bonus he is able to wear a ring even while deployed because it poses no threat of conducting electricity, degloving of the finger, or other hazardous situations most metal rings would. I would highly recommend this particular silicone ring to anyone in mechanic work, weight lifting, extreme heat, or other areas where wearing a traditional ring is dangerous or frowned upon. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Regular guy bought it at full price, review. *by L***E on December 15, 2015* As the title says I bought the ring to use it. Little back story, I lost my last wedding ring when I had to remove it to help fix a car broke down in a parking lot. Put it in my pocket and must have fallen out. Very upsetting. I started look at silicone ring because to tell the truth I've lost my ring before (Gutting a deer in the field) and working in a machine shop, lifting weights, Obstacle races I would have to remove it to prevent damage to me and the ring. So hey for the price I'll give it a shot. Removing it for the packaging I was super impressed by the sheen of the ring. However My callused hands made short work that sheen. Now it's more of a semi-gloss finish which I still dig. I love the fit, I order a size 10 and got a nice snugly 10. Wearing it is awesome because I forget I'm even wearing it and if you work with your hands as much as I do to forget you are wearing a ring is a blessing. However the best thing about this ring is I NEVER TAKE IT OFF. The deep black really shows you are taken which my wife loves. I round up this review, I will buy another one in an instant, I will most likely stick with Elegant Glam because after shopping their look the classiest. I can't defend that statement because I have not bought any other ring. P.S. My husband says it is light weight, a nice snug fit, and it is more comfortable than his expensive, original wedding band! I mainly got this ring for my husband because he is a Sheriffs Deputy. Who knows when or how his finger could get caught somewhere! But a least now I know his ring will break away if it needs too. I've seen horrible situations of people's ring fingers getting degloved and even cut off completely by there wedding bands, by things as dumb as jumping a chain link fence or as insane as a catching your ring on a workshop saw! This product is a great idea for those hard working, hands on men that don't want to risk losing/ damaging fingers. The sizes are accurate as well. My husband wears a 10.5 normally and the size 10 that I ordered for him fits perfectly. I like the shiny coating on this ring as apposed to the competitors matte finishes because from a distance it doesn't look like a fake gum ball machine ring.
