I had a cheap single stage regulator and when the propane tank was say 1/4 full and the grill was on for a while I would lose pressure and the grill would not stay hot. I could have tried a different single stage regulator but I didn’t want to mess around. After doing some research it appeared this dual stage would stabilize the pressure even as the tank cooled done. This plus a new hose and a couple of fitting and I was off and running.
