Soft leather and they are very well packaged, comes in a little mesh bag for storing. I use it to carry an extra pair of shoes in my diaper bag just in case we forget. The pattern came exactly looking like the listing pictures, very cute, the leather is really soft, i checked inside and out, top to bottom, there are not sharp edges or hard spots anywhere. I like that the removable soles are thicker so it's not as bare, just in case she steps on something hard she's still protected. These are great for indoor use, shopping or go to someone's house that you know it's not clean and dont' want your baby go barefeet haha... this is why I always carry an extra pair, clean and for indoor use :) For cleaning, I use a damp cloth to wipe, since this is real leather, it can't be washed.
