NIV, Backpack Bible, Imitation Leather, Brown, Red Letter Imitation Leather – Special Edition, June 24, 2012

I just received my NIV Thinline Bloom Collection Bible - a very nice Bible!~ The outside: Stamped on the back is 'Italian Duo-Tone' & the leather feels wonderful to hold in the hands, not stiff at all. The flower is well stitched onto the green backing, the white petals of the daisy are a shiny vinyl, the center 2 left-hand petals on my Bible wrap around to the backside of the Bible about 3/4 of an inch; the golden center of the daisy is a fine snakeskin-like finish. Very pretty, well made & comfortable to hold!~ The inside: Silver paper edges all around. A nice white ribbon place marker. The font size is not too small & very readable for someone with less than perfect eyesight such as myself. The words of Jesus in red. The only extra page following the Book of Revelation is a 'Table of Weights and Measures'.I only have 2 things to warn about:~ Margins: If you are a note maker there is no margin room to make notes in this Bible, less than 1/2 inch of outer page space.~ Very thin pages: If you like to highlight or underline passages, the pages are so tissue thin (VERY, VERY thin!) that I'm sure it will bleed through terribly. I'm scared to attempt my first marking for fear it will ruin the opposite side of the pageMargins & thin pages aside (which are no issue if reading is your only desire), I am very happy that I purchased this Bible & would do so again!

My old bible was literally falling apart. I finally broke down and got a new one. I really wanted a journaling bible, but they seem to be impossible to find in NKJV, so I got this because the price was great. So far I really like it. There is definitely extra room to write, but don't expect to be able to write a novel. Also keep in mind that the margins are only wide on three sides of the page, so in the middle portion of the bible there is no room to write. The font size is a little small for my taste, but the paper is very bright and a bit thicker than most bibles, so the letters stand out a lot better than they did in my last bible. The overall layout is great and the size is perfect. Another downsize to this bible is no concordance, maps, or extra note pages. I guess to keep it from getting to thick they have to skimp out somewhere... but I just tore out the map from my last bible. And I guess no one needs a concordance anymore these days with internet access. Overall, if you need a bible I would recommend this one! With the low price you don't have to feel bad getting another one later on if you find something better.

It so happens recently that a portable bible has been something I've needed. And Zondervan had a great fit, the backpack bible series (2011 NIV rev. if I'm not mistaken). Although these are mostly meant for children, the dimensions of this bible (4.6" x 1" x 6.7") are great for anyone on the move. The typeface is plain to see, but be aware that the size is comparable to the Gideon pocket NT's. So I'd not recommend this bible to those who don't read finer print well.This bible includes a nice light brown page ribbon, and of course words of Christ in red. And the texture of the cover is quite well stiched together and grips well on the hand. The ICHTHUS, is slightly raised on the cover and is absolutely impressive. The page edges are printed with colored mellow vertical stripes (assuming the bible is laying closed and flat). The colors are green, white, blue, and brown. The colors definately go with the light/dark brown cover and are dignified. No maps are in this bible, but has one page of measurements after Revelations.

I needed a bible that fit in my purse but had a decent size print. Additionally, I wanted something girly looking, because, well, why not!? So, I settled on this bible because of the color and price--it was much less expensive and better looking that what I found at Barnes and Noble and even our local Christian Bookstore. Truly, it's beautiful! The color as shown is accurate and the floral design on the cover is what the inside flaps look like. I get compliments on it all the time. Many people also ask to feel it, which is akin to a thick faux leather or thick plastic, which is smooth and soft to the touch. In my opinion, it's a great buy. I'd buy it as a gift or recommend it to a friend.

Like the note taking area but the text is too small for older eyes.

Bought as a baptism gift for my youngest son. He is my only avid outdoorsman. This Bible is beautiful and well done. He loves the camo cover and is asked about it often at church. He and I both have enjoyed the pictures of wild life and outdoorsman devotionals sprinkled through out. It's well crafted, and durable. My only concern is that the pages are SUPER thin and delicate, I'm hoping with use for a few years they don't deteriorate and wear out.

Gave this a easter gift for my 7 year old. She was so excited to get it. Love the size very compact and easy for her to carry to Church. The leather is beautiful and so soft! The quality is definitely superb. I love that it has a spot in the front for me to write her name and when she got it. Wish the text was larger but she said she can see it just fine. Also I knew it would be small because it is a compact bible. So glad I bought her a real bible and so happy to be able to share the word of God with my baby!

This compact sized bible has a really nice slate blue cover with a printed design on it. The cover is NOT leather. The font is 8 pt. This bible is now out of print. However, there are some 3rd party vendors on Amazon selling what are described as new copies at prices ranging from $60.00 to $90.00. For anyone considering paying that much for an NIV bible, the following information might be useful.This bible does NOT include the following:NO Maps.NO Concordance.NO Index.Instead, this bible ends with the following:A Table of Weights and Measures page. (page 1611)5 blank pages.The description for this bible says it contains 1632 pages. My copy ends on page 1611 which is the Table of Weights and Measures page. After this page, there's 5 blank pages. I asked the vendor about these 5 blank pages but didn't get a reasonable answer.

It is Abit small ...

Amazing bible, purchased for my husband and he loves it. Great devotional stories, encouraging and inspiring. Highly recommend for the outdoorsman.

THOUGH I AM NOT COMPLAINING, I DIDNT REALISE THAT THE LETTER SIZE IS SO SMALL AND I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO READ. WILL YOU REPLACE IT AND GIVE ME A MUCH BIGGER LETTER SIZE?
