50/50 points. THE BEST snorkel I have ever used. Well designed and very well considered product. Easily improve your swim form!
- Preface - I've used many snorkels before. As a child and as an adult I have had many experiences with snorkels. Most of the time I remembered the taste of chlorine in the pool that day rather than the experience of that day. With this Focus Swim Snorkel, those days are long gone. - Design - 10/10 Only 2 items. One breathing apparatus, one headband. These are by far the best design I have ever seen and had regarding snorkel gear. The triangular conical lofted shape allows me to cut through water with no resistance--it's beautiful. The purge valve blends in seamlessly to the front of the breathing portion of the snorkel. This is a phenomenal design consideration--thank you Aqua Sphere. - Function - 10/10 After my first 10 minutes, I learned how to use this properly and not breathe in water through my nose. Easy to learn how to use. Purge valve works great and is placed in a great location. - Test - 10/10 I went to the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center in Pasadena and tried them out for about 30 days. These worked great and was not a hassle to lug around. I got this Aqua Sphere MP Focus Swim snorkel because I wanted to work on my swim form. I had a habit of over-rotating on my 4th stroke during freestyle swimming, which results in swaying to the left. - Results - 10/10 My lung capacity and swim form have drastically improved thanks to this. Thank you Aqua Sphere. It seems like a small thing to use this device to improve your swim form, but when you use this to work out AND improve your swimming capabilities--it becomes a no-brainer to make this investment. - Storage / Packaging - 10/10 Netted bag was perfect for this. There are only 2 parts so I can't complain. Easy to pack and take with you anywhere. And if you leave it out to air dry, it can--because netted bag.

Very well designed. It’s a great snorkel.
Love this. I am a smallish adult with a normal sized mouth, so I was on the fence between the small version and the regular version. I decided to go with the regular one. I am glad I did. Someone said the mouth piece was “invasive” which gave me pause, but I have to disagree. It is not like your regular snorkel mouthpiece with two side tabs though. The two sides are connected by horizontal piece that rests behind your front teeth. I find hat extremely comfortable. I can relax my jaw and lips and still have the mouthpiece remain effortlessly in place and water tight. I find that to be a great design. I adjusted the head strap only twice so I can’t see strap breaking for any reason. Those who have trouble with it breaking probably didn't notice the release tabs on the strap bracket. Like a lot of straps it is ratcheted. There are tabs to release the ratchet; don't just pull. To use the snorkel, put the mouthpiece in your mouth first, then pull the strap into place over your head and you’re good to go. After the first use I got a headache, so I loosened the strap a bit and have been happy with the snorkel ever since. It stays securely in place, doesn’t move while swimming, and doesn’t leak. I have gotten water in my mouth a couple times but those were my fault. It’s easy to purge—cover the top of the snorkel with your hand and blow. (Don't do a flip turn while wearing the snorkel. I only did that once :-)). I’d buy this again in a heartbeat if needed but it should last forever.

Value for money. Picked up swimming after a long time thanks to this!
I am currently using this for my lap swims. I used to swim a lot when I was a teenager but it has been nearly three decades since then and I was completely out of touch with swimming. Breathing during free style has been a big problem for me and I have sprained my neck which makes it hard to rotate my neck for breaths. This Snorkel has been exactly what I was looking for. It takes breathing out of swimming and makes swimming a breeze. So I have gone from swimming 1-2 laps to swimming nearly 20 laps now all because of this snorkel. This snorkel forces you to be in the right posture while swimming freestyle. Otherwise, water will get inside the snorkel. And even if water gets in, there is a blow hole which makes it easy to spit water out. I don't do flip turns but if you do flip turns while swimming, then water will most certainly get inside the snorkel. If a lot of water gets inside, then it will take some effort and practice in order to spit it all out. I don't have this problem since I never do flip turns.

really stable, easily adjustable, harder to breathe through than others
For background, I swim freestyle laps for 45-60 minutes, 3-5 days a week and I always uses a swim snorkel. This is my third snorkel, I first tried an off brand that was cheap and terrible (I don't think they even sell it on here anymore). Second, I tried the "FINIS Swimmer's Snorkel" and now the MP Micheal Phelps Focus, which I've had for about a week. I would rate the FINIS and the MP on par with each other, it just depends what's important to you. Pros: • super stable even at higher speeds, this thing does not wobble. Finis wobbles more, but it's not terrible. • stays in place with no need to readjust it. But if you do need to adjust the head band fit, it's really easy. I'm a woman and I bought the regular fit and the size is perfect for me, but i don't have small head. lol. The finis moves around a bit more, but not a lot. • i like the mouthpiece on this one. this seems a contentious feature for folks, and don't get me wrong, it's pretty big and intrusive, but the Finis just had little silicone pads you bite down on and I would end up clenching my jaw while swimming. it's much harder to that with this snorkel and i find it keeps my jaw opened and relaxed. • so far the value seems solid. my ultimate beef with the Finis was the value at the bottom, it started leaking and i would have to stop and dump water from the snorkel all the time, so far so good with this one, although it's early days, so if that changes i'll update the review. cons: • the MP is harder to breathe through than the Finis. maybe it's the mouthpiece or the severe bend at the bottom restricting airflow, but it's harder to such air through it. I mean, I suppose you could put that under pro, as I'm sure it develops greater lung strength, but for me it's not ideal. Bottom line: personally I like the fit, stability and mouthpiece of this one and i can live with the airflow issues. Though i have to say, if the Finis improved the value and the mouthpiece, it would be a hands down winner for me. Hope that helped. Happy swimming!

just what I'd hoped for!
Im a middle-aged guy who swims lengths for fitness... this snorkel has made that activity so much better! The big difference is no longer having to turn my head to breathe. Not surprising is no more lingering neck pain, the bigger surprise is how much faster I do my lengths. As a result I can do much larger volume in the same amount of time with no noticeable increase in effort. I spent a couple of hours online researching pool snorkels and this Phelps one is deservedly one of the highest rated. Its light, stiff, easy to adjust, easy to breathe through and easy to expel water from. One caveat: whatever snorkel you get be sure to get nose clips otherwise you'll be getting a lot of water up your nose, especially if you attempt tumble turns

Most amazing product
Saw this snorkel on a high school swimmer and said, “that’s interesting, I need to check this out!” Wow, what a difference. Never owned a snorkel specifically for swimming laps, just for scuba diving. I don’t like the side fit ones for swimming due to drag. Where were thes 35 years ago when I was still swimming competitively? I now don’t stop swimming due to being out of breath, just for total exhaustion. I increased my yardage by 70% per workout since I purchased this. . I’m not an elite swimmer any more and the burnout I experienced after swimming competitively until I was 28 was so bad, all my attempts to start swimming regularly again for the past 3+ decades have ended in sheer drudgery and giving up. With this, I’ve put together a string of daily swim workouts longer than all the days swimming laps since I was 28. Fit is great, comfortable, no obvious drag, doesn’t interfere with my vision. And best of all, my focus is on my stroke and muscles instead of getting my next breath.

A Surprisingly Awesome Purchase (For a Highly Competitive Swimmer)
I am a highly competitive swimmer/triathlete, averaging 3 swims for 10,000 yards a week, and swim very specific and functional workouts. I demand a lot from my equipment because my training demands a lot from me. That being said, I needed a tool to help train head position, improve breathing and streamlining, and this has been FANTASTIC. This is a very stylish and sleek snorkel, and is very, very comfortable. The triangular tube shape does, in fact, seem to make it a bit easier to swim with. I find it easier to discharge the water (after doing a flipturn) than the Finis equivalent, and it is definitely more comfortable. My airflow does feel much more restricted than with the Finis, although I find that more as a training opportunity instead of a design flaw. The black with lime green head band is a nice eye-catching feature, although lacks any real benefit, and the components feel sturdy and well put together. It also comes in at a good price point. I do have the occasional time where I get half a snorkel full of water, but in general, it is easily solved with two huge exhales through the snorkel. Highly recommend this, along with the Speedo Deluxe Ventilator Mesh Equipment Bag, Formula One for keeping all of your gear organized!

UPDATE: TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT!!’ - I am a huge fan, been using for 3+ months
UPDATE - Purchased in January. Lasted 5 months. I swim about 3 times a week, and the back strap snapped when I put it on this morning. I have been rinsing it off after every swim. I have reached out to the manufacturer and await hearing a response. I am not thrilled with this. I have used other snorkels for multiple years and haven’t had this happen. SUPER unhappy. Contacted the company in the middle of June. It is now the first week in August. Their support is terrible. They have dropped the ball multiple times. Said it was in process with no update. Haven’t responded to emails for over a week. Do NOT buy. Look elsewhere. I had used a Finis Freestyle Swim Snorkel before this and it was decent, but had a good amount of leaking and also didn't have a purge valve. It got to the point where I felt I was having to exhale out heaving 2-3 times a lap and that was it. I read a good bit and found this one. Initially I wasn't sure about the mouth piece, but I got used to it very quickly and like it. It allows me to not keep my jaw tight around the mouth piece to keep a good seal. I will suggest you drink a good bit of water before you swim with this mouth piece, as I do find myself drying out a bit more, and also if you can bring some water. Other than that, I plan to keep using this for quite a while. I freestyle swim a straight mile 3x a week. (to give you some background.)

Kaufempfehlung

Surprised at quality
Must say I am surprised. I tot for the price paid and for the brand and I only bought this in April. This should not happen. It was only today that the strap broke and not because I did anything that i wouldn’t do normally when putting the snorkel on.
