Great quality and well made chess set. I bought this for our teenage Nephew for his birthday and he loves it. This really portable it's easy to pack and unpack and because the pieces are stored inside the board in a nicely lined bed they won't get damaged or lost. The finish of the board is beautiful the inlay is clean and precise the brass hardware is nice and attached well the fabric straps on the hinges in the storage tray are a nice touch, the spaces for the pieces in the storage tray are made to hold the pieces snugly so they won't get damaged or rattle around when carried the knight ( horse ) pieces could be more detailed but they are still nice, the pieces are made of the same type of wood as the board and they have felt on the bottoms so they move easily on the board. This is a standard size board that has a nice weight to it the board sits flat and even and closes completely with the pieces stored inside all the hardware is brass and attached vey well this board and it's pieces should age nicely and become more attractive as it ages.

It is a little hard to tell the queen from the bishops.At any rate, this definitely is a set for kid hands , as the title says. The magnets are not super strong, but they help. I was looking for a game to play at work with a colleague,but 5.5 inches, as it clearly says in the description, was a little too small once I set it up. I am sure for a kid it would be fine. And at 5 bucks, (with free delivery) it is a great price.

First off I must say I am impressed with the wood grain of the checker board. Beautiful set. This chess board is perfect and such a great price. Our 11 year old son is on a Chess kick with his friends and this board works great for them. The quality is great, unlike all of the cheap plastic chess sets, but comparable in price. It stores all of the pieces so he can easily pack it up and take it to a friend's house. I am so glad I found this chess set.

Very tiny but excellent for travel. It's 3 in 1 which is awesomeAlthough I wish it was bigger I'll admit it be great for traveling

For the price this set was I am unhappy with it. The pieces are plastic & do not set right, they topple over at the slightest bump thankfully I didn’t purchase it for travel.

If you're looking for a simple, cheap, small, and portable chess set, this one will do just fine. I've had no issues with the latch, and the board unfolds well enough that it isn't lopsided.

This item is not worth the money (and there is no return) the checkers are the size of a round pill, an all around piece of junk. Don't waste your money.

Great product for the price. I would have liked instructions for the games.
