Every claim was false, very disappointed
I was very excited to try these but they ended up being disappointing in the extreme. The claims are all so misleading. To begin, the product is completely greenwashed. These are in no way environmentally friendly at all. The company attempts to use lingo that sounds "green" but isn't, such as saying the book was made without using water (they are not water-free). They claim the books are "tree-free" to seem environmentally friendly, but plastic is not better than paper. This book is made of plastic. The pages are plastic, the cover and strap are plastic. This book is made almost entirely of non-renewable resources. It's just plastic with some limestone powder mixed in. The pages are designed to photodegrade into microplastics which litter the environment. The smell is the worst part and I can't get past it. I even tried putting them in another room after I couldn't sleep with it beside my bed, but I can smell them when I go into that room. They smell horrid, like plastic pool floats. I thought maybe letting them air out for a while would help, but it doesn't. They just STINK.The paper is not smooth. Did I get two dud books? I cannot understand how there are good reviews. Were they paid to leave those reviews? Did they actually purchase the book? The descriptions are nothing like what I received. You can see in the photo that there is a very rough, sandpapery texture. It's not smooth like writing paper. It is like this on both sides of each page.Writing on these pages is NOT smooth. They are very rough and toothy, kind of like writing on fine-grain sandpaper. It makes a loud, scratchy sound when writing on it with all of the implements I tried. This is nice when using graphite, but terrible with any kind of pen, especially if you like a smooth writing experience or if you are used to using nice papers. To add to the frustration, the paper does not take ink. (See photos) I saw the review photos from a previous buyer and figured maybe they just didn't give the ink time to dry. So I got several types of writing instruments and tried them, but decided to give them two minutes to dry before attempting to run a finger over them. I accidentally forgot about the book and returned about fifteen minutes later, so I thought this would definitely be enough time to let it dry. The photo is the result. Everything smeared badly with light pressure except for ballpoint pen left to dry for 15 minutes (it may take less time to dry, I didn't try for a shorter time). I didn't try rubbing the graphite since graphite just naturally smears no matter the surface. The blue is highlighter. When the book was closed, the ink transferred to the paper on the opposite page. So only use one side of each page, I guess. So, if you purchase the book, only use graphite. If you want to use ballpoint, give it a while to dry first. Don't use anything else on it. Even a Sharpie marker didn't stay put.The sensation of touching the paper makes my spine tense up. It feels like touching wet chalk. Each time I wrote, I picked my hand up with the sensation of having chalk down the side and I would try to rub but nothing is there. It just feels like it's getting all over me.And to top it all off, the pages soak up humidity and warp. (see photos) I don't know how, they don't hold ink. It has been rainy here, so maybe that is why, but the pages are warping and feel wet and soggy. They get sort of … "sticky" in humid climates. The pages won't go flat again, the whole book is just lumpy.I'm very sorry to send them back because I know they will just get thrown in the trash, further harming the environment, but I cannot justify losing $64 on two books that are unusable just so I can pay a fortune to throw them away myself. I am sending them back. Hopefully, an Amazon employee will save them from the trash bin and take them home and like them. It was just such a waste.

Softer Than Your Finest Silken Undergarments, More Rugged Than Your Daughter's Chastity Belt
I'll be the first to admit, when I saw the tagline: "Stone Paper: It Is Always About New Experiences" I raised an eyebrow. Promising waterproof paper seems hyperbolic, but after years in the field taking notes in the most horrific of places ruining notepads left and right when rain, condensation, and unexpected leaks would cause ink to bleed into and ruin a months worth of notes I figured I'd give it a shot. The result? This paper defies physics. It feels softer than my finest silken undergarments, refuses to tear, and beads up water like the windshield of a new car. The fact it's more environmentally friendly than driving 30 miles in your Tesla is just a bonus.Side note: I'll be ready when Pictostone starts making underwear - all of the durability and softness I'd expect from high thread count Egyptian cotton.

Great Quality
I saw one of my coworkers was using one of these notebooks and he kept bragging about it. I didnt think much of it until he asked me to write something on it. Wow! I was impressed how smooth the pen slide on the stone paper. His bragging actually had some merit to it.I decided to buy these as a gift for several managers at work and cant wait to see their reaction. I am a big fan of the Italian maker notebook, this is nothing compare to what I have tried before. I really like the fact that there was no trees killed to make this. So far I am really happy with my purchase

I love it! I love this product
I love it! I love this product. Never really heard of “stone paper” until my boss showed me his "Pictostone" stone paper notebook at work. It really is almost identical to regular paper but with a polished and refined feel to it. It felt heavier therefore more durable than ordinary paper. Writing on it was like writing on normal paper. Surprisingly it is water/oil and grease resistant and is even more difficult to tear. This definitely is a high quality and hardwearing writing paper. I was clearly impressed. Shortly after, I bought two notebooks as a gift for my “millennial” daughters who certainly cares more about the environment than my generation. They loved it!

Ink smears... a lot...
I like the texture of the paper and the fact that it’s waterproof makes this a great product. And it works great with lead/pencils! But it does have its flaws. The pages are a pain to tear off. They... “stretch” instead of tearing. It’s not bad, just not anything I’m used to.Biggest flaw in this paper (aside from its cost), is that it’s not as absorbent as regular paper, so some inks never set all the way and end up smearing later. I managed to smear the ink from a fine tip sharpie! Out of all the pens I’ve tested on it, only 2 out of 11 didn’t smear. They were both ballpoint pens.I’ll keep messing around with it and update on it if something new happens. But for now it’s looking like this might be a straight lead only sketchbook

Great product, excellent customer service
The product is lovely, exactly as described. The pages have such a nice feel to them and the imitation leather outside is exactly what I was looking for, very smart and attractive. My notebook actually arrived very late through no fault of pictostone, it was a one off incident and I have the product now, but I received excellent customer service and updates, as they did everything possible to get my order to me quickly.I would definitely reccomend the product and the company.

the best part: the paper
VERY TRENDY! As soon as I received my notebook, I was surprise with the quality of the hardcover and, its logo design. Now, the best part: the paper. It's tear-resistant and waterproof. I had to put it to test and spilled some water on the pages and nothing happened. It works for every kind of environment but it's even more practical if you're going to use it outdoors. Love my new notebook! :)
