This tasty treat for hermit crabs is our propietary blend of dungeness crab exoskeleton, dried kelp, greensand, fish bone, and oyster shells. Dungeness Crab Meal: Our crab meal is first steamed and then mechanically extracted. This is an excellent source of protein, calcium and chitin. This is the best healing food you could have available in the event of a bad molt or a crab needing a boost in chitin. Kelp Meal: Our kelp meal is hand harvested, dried, and then milled into fines. The specific species is Ascophyllum nodosum. This is an excellent plant based source of essential amino acids, fiber, carotene, vitamin A, and vitamin E. Greensand: Similar to azomite, greensand is mined from a unique location, the bottom of the ocean! It is packed with trace minerals necessary for proper metabolic function. Fish Bone Meal: Our bone meal originates from menhaden, anchovy, red fish, and sardines that are wild-caught. The bones are steamed and then milled into fines. This is an excellent marine based source of protein and calcium. Oyster Shells: Our crushed oyster shells are hand harvested, hand shucked, and then steamed at high temperature. It is then mechanically crushed. This is a great source of calcium. Serving size for all products is 1/4 tsp per three crabs--although, if you are offering multiple foods at once, you can likely use less. **Please note, all of these items are potential allergens.
