Small keepsake or jewelry box crafted from a single block of distressed walnut. Look closely, and you can see that the grain pattern lines up along the face of the box (and inside the drawers as well). Everything about this item is handmade, right down to the front knobs, which were turned on a mini-lathe in our shop. (No two are alike.) This box is freeform in shape following a zigzag pattern cut freehand using a bandsaw. It features two small sliding drawers. Inside, there's room for rings, necklaces or other treasured items. Cracks, knots and other interesting elements in the wood have been maintained, except where they threatened the structural integrity of the object. In those cases, the wood has been stabilized. This box is finished with a glossy transparent polyurethane varnish to ensure years of good looks. Dimensions: About 5.5 inches high and 5 inches deep.
