CAREFULLY remove the handle (by the handle) and place on the towel and dry it off (and let it cool for another 15 seconds or until it feels cool ...
OK. Don't listen to anyone else... if you are buying this for your Ozark Trails 40oz (OT40), it fits perfectly. Here's how you do it. Make some room to work next to the stove on your countertop, and lay a towel down next to the stove. Boil some water and, just before it gets to full boiling, put the handle ring-side-down in the water and count to 30 (1-thousand-one, etc.) Clean your OT40, run under cold water and turn upside down next to the towel. CAREFULLY remove the handle (by the handle) and place on the towel and dry it off (and let it cool for another 15 seconds or until it feels cool enough through the towel to handle). When you can safely pick it up by the ring, use two hands, and while making sure it is positioned right way round (upside down like your cup is), push it firmly down onto the bottom of the cup and, maintaining continuous force (you don't have to SLAM it down), push it all the way onto the cup, stopping where you want it to sit. Quickly turn the cup over to confirm it is high enough (if not, turn it back over and apply additional force to push it further until it is where you want it). That's it. Now, when the cup warms up and the handle cools, it will stay right where you put it (you'll need to wash the cup with it installed from now on). At least - that's how I did it. Excellent purchase.. now all I need is a replacement lid that has a flip or sliding closure that seals it.

Too Small to go on, Quality Control issues.
Must be a molding quality control issue, the opening is TOO SMALL for the 40oz Ozark. Mine was HEAVILY coerced to go on from the bottom but would only just barely start...sitting very low on the tumbler making things VERY top heavy/tip likely. So the lid doesn't seal and the tumbler/handle combo won't slide down into cup holders, bumping the bottom of the grip which comes down to about 1 in from the bottom. In other words, if it's on a table or counter, the bottom of the handle sticks down to almost touch the counter for 3 or so up is the grip for your fingers, then the big&tall part of the mug sits several inches above the ring of the handle!

Perfect for a RTEC 40 oz
Perfect for a RTEC 40 oz. I had been looking for one for a gift and for myself. It works so well that I just ordered a 3rd one for a friend. It fits my "elderly" hand and it is balanced and easy to put on. When my friend saw it---she shared she also had a 40 oz Rtec cup and never used it because it was hard to hold without a handle. We found handles for our Yeti's etc---but had trouble finding one for the RTEC!

Great grip and fit
This is great. I’d read various reviews on various handles and they all said they fit the Ozark Trail cups but according to the reviews they didn’t. This one DOES. Perfect fit, no gaps, no slippage, heavy duty. The handle gives you a great grip. Fits really nicely in your hand. I have bad arthritis in the hand I predominantly use. Because of the big grip I do not have any issues. I wish it were a little less expensive but it is a great handle, especially for the Ozark Trail 40 oz. cups. Would get another one if they came in different colors.

The good & bad.
I have good and bad comments. The bad is the handle is a little too small for my Ozark 40oz tumbler. My husband had to "wedge" it on using tools from his garage. It left slight scratches, & there is no way I can take it off when washing. The good is that he "wedged" it high enough where it balances correctly and fits into the cup holder of my car. Would I buy again? Probably, but not for a colored cup, only a silver metal one.

Get a grip!
It fits fine. It does get tight but if you are not strong enough to work it up to the top with your fingers, hit it with your purse until it is where you want it.I have read where others have dipped it into boiling water before putting it on. I didn't do that. I just put it on out of the box and worked it up with my fingers.

Great Handle! Needs some "persuasion" to install. Worth it!
I just recieved my handle in the mail. After reading the reviews, I was prepared for the installation part of it. I placed the handle in a bowl and covered it with hot water from the kettle and let it sit for awhile. Then I dried it, gave the inside of the handle and my Ozark 40 oz cup a wipe of WD40. After that I used a block of wood. ( a 1 ft piece of 2x4) to nudge it down to an inch from the lip...perfect!When I first bought my cup, it slipped from my hand and hit my stickshift while on the highway. The heavy full cup luckily just changed it from drive to neutral. Scary! I went home and put 15 wide elastic bands around my cup giving it a rubberized fit and grip. If the handle didn't work out ,I would have gone to back to that !

Not lawn mower proof!
I disliked the 1st one I purchased due to losing a battle with a lawn mower. Up until that point it was a nice and useful product for my 40oz Yeti. I missed having my Thermik Handle while waiting for the new one to arrive and glad things are back to normal. The new one is like the previous one...nice comfortable fit, light weight and well made. Hopefully, I can keep this one out of harms way. Would purchase again.
