The Original Slush Mug - Purple

My friend had some old versons of these from the 70's, and I had to have one. I was glad I was able to find them here. The shipping was really quick, (like always) and it came with a free little plastic finger puppet. (also very good quality) The outer purple mug is thinner than I had expected, it's more like a shell, but I don't mind and it really does insulate. After I had kept the glacier core in the freezer, (for about 6-8 hours) some of the water droplets on it had frozen, I didn't wipe them off, I just went strait to putting it in the purple shell, and after eating the slushy the drops had melted but when I took it out i was surprised to find that the ice covered by the purple was still frozen. Now that's insulation! The first time I tried to make a slushy it didn't work because I didn't leave it in the freezer long enough, (about 5 hours) that's because I was just so excited about making a slushy, I mean, who wouldn't be? This morning I made a Pepsi slushy, and it turned out great! I sugest leaving the drink in the mug for a couple minutes before even trying to start stirring. I never really get the purple shell dirty, so I don't have to wash it much, and the inside is really easy to clean, so when i'm done I just scrub it a little and put it back in the freezer. If you think your freezer is not going to be cold enough because it says -10 degrees or colder, and most freezers are around 0. Don't be, our freezer is at 0 and it works fine. It's made in the US and it works great, and fast... How could it get any better?

I was so excited about this... but it didn't work. I wanted to make a dr.pepper slushie but it just froze the dr. pepper. There was no chipping away at it to make the slushy. It was too frozen.

My grandson thinks it is fun. That being said, I only used it once, and I think I need to let it sit longer between stirs to make the ice come onto the juice. He thought it was super! (6 year old)....DO RECOMMEND! I like that you can use any juice in this and it makes it fun to have something that is good for you!

This actually works pretty good. But I got it to make slushies with my iced tea. AND IT DOES NOT WORK WITH SUGAR FREE LIQUIDS. I did not know this until I got it and tried it , reading the tiny insert. I wanted it for my SUGAR FREE drinks so I could make SUGAR FREE slushies. What a Bummer. But it does work with sugary liquids.

I purchased the slush mug, and put the core in the freezer for the recommended amount of time. I poured cold juice into the frozen core, stirred the liquid and then put it into the refrigerator for about 15 minutes. When I took it out of the refrigerator I had to stir it again and put it back in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes to get the slush consistancy that I wanted. This product is okay, but takes much longer than I expected to make a slushy mixture.

The product came in less than a week and was left outside my door. I immediately stuck the glaciercore into the freezer and I took it out next morning and put it into the outside mug and poured my drink in. I waited ten minutes, occasionally stirring and scraping the inside walls of the glaciercore. The slushee created was fast and amazing, it wasn't watered down and had a great bold flavor. The slush wasn't watery at all and was the PERFECT consistency. Definitely would recommend this product for making a nice cool treat on a hot summer day.

Let me just say that the product came extremely fast. It arrived before the estimated delivery date actually! A little finger puppet was included as well and amused me. Anyway, when I first received the slush mug in the mail and tried it out I was very impatient. I wanted the core to freeze faster than 6 hours which, of course, didn't happen so I had to freeze it over night. The next day, I finally tried out the product with room temperature Pepsi and, again, was impatient. I poured the drink out and tried slushing orange juice with self added sugar. This time it worked. Long story short: Great product. It works well but not for the impatient like me.

Doesn't work and the "lip" of the rim where you drink out of is sharp and uncomfortable - after my first unsuccessful try I realized I will never use it and it was a waste of money.
