Pretty Good Amp, Better Alternatives
Update: 2016. After spending more time with this amp I have to say I have to change my impressions to 5 stars. This amp rivals my Ray Samuel's P-51 which costs 2x's more at $345.00!. This is a very clean and neutral amp. Very dark background and delivers the source it's given cleanly without distortion or adding any coloration. It's extremely flat. It's a great little amp, I recommend it over the Sound Gun 1 which just didn't have much driving power.Features:WISS stands for the "Way It Should Sound." Their intent is to design audio products to play back audio the way it was originally recorded. Their acoustic team has more than twenty years of design experience in making audiophile gear for many famous brands around the globe. It's their goal to engineer a high fidelity audio experience for your listening pleasure.Review:'''''= Maximum ScoreBuild Quality: ''''' (Solid overall)Power: ''''' (Great in measurement)Output Impedance: ''''' (16 – 150 ohm, dual output)Portability: ''''' (Ultra-portable)Speed: '''' (Accurate)Transparency: '''' (Decent depth)Soundstage: '''' (Great width and separation)Coloration / Neutrality: '''' (Almost neutral, slightly warm)Hissing: ' (Silence/Hissing)Remarks: The WISS sounded very similar to the C&C BH2 with the SF switch on. The WISS does have a loud pop sound when the unit it turned on and a laser type sound when turned off.Features: The WISS Sound Gun 2 is a small portable headphone amp with two outputs to connect two headphones or earphones at once. With a high and low gain switch, and a full aluminum case this is still a new item on the portable audio scene.Size: Very portable with a size of 86x57x13mm it will fit in any pocket.Sound: WISS has a pleasing sound for so small a unit. There are 2 gain settings a high and a low. The sound is somewhat neutral and does not sound processed in any way. Interestingly it sounds very similar to the C&C BH2. The WISS does not have the SF or the LF like the C&C but I have found that with the LF on it adds muffling to the presentation not at lower volumes, but more at the higher ones, whereas the WISS did not at any level. The WISS costs a bit more and is not as flexible as the C&C with the additional two options, but it's really nice and clean and simple and has the same dimensions as the C&C which is nice and simple and you don't have to wait 2-3 weeks to get it like the C&C. The WISS did drive dual driver and triple driver IEM's very well and easily on the high gain setting more than anyone would need.
