More sex and irreverence please.
I started listening to Mr. Collett around the release of Idols of Exile andfound that lo-fi album to be a treasure trove of tuneful, witty, sexy andirreverent gems. More recently the album Rat a Tat Tat with it's danceable (at times), creative folk/rock/soul was one of the most under appreciated CDs of it's decade. I still play both of the aforementioned albums quite regularly. For my left-field tastes this album has a few too many mid-tempo songs, albeit well written and with repeated listening quite good, although I do miss the blatant sex and irreverence--not to mention some great rocking grooves of earlier records. This CD shows a more mature and thoughtful style, more "folky" and perhaps accessible. The last four songs on the Reckon side of this double disk are top notch. The second disk is all reruns from earlier albums and seem to be the exact same recordings as on the respective albums that they come from, why not some demos, out-takes, live performances or covers? Although I do recommend this album, I would recommend Rat A Tat Tat and IdolsOf Exile over this if you like something a bit more exotic. But if you are already a fan, once you get used to the "tamed down" nature of these songs you willprobably enjoy this also.

Buy it!!!
This is just plain awesome music. So many influences from song to song. My new favorite artist! Bought the vinyl and it included the digital download. The included Essential Cuts is equally great. Gives a nice perspective of his previous work, which I fully plan to purchase.
