2000mAh Lithium battery for SL1, SP2, SP2-Warm & New Version of SP1,SP1-Warm (Sold after Jul. 1st, 2014)

The original battery lasted over three years, which would be over 1,000 daily charging cycles. I believe this meets or exceeds the advertised longevity for this product. Replacing my solar-powered light system (which I use to illuminate our American flag, which we fly 24 hours a day) would have cost 3 to 4 times the price of the replacement battery, so replacing the battery makes financial sense. Replacing the battery only requires a small Phillips head screwdriver and two minutes of your time to remove the six small screws holding on the plate that covers the battery compartment.

Does NOT fit the SP1 as stated. I broke the SP1 wiring trying to modify the box to hold this wrong-size battery. Battery needs to be rectangular and flat. No soldering iron to fix the wiring. Small task becoming big project. Went in circles clicking the Amazon "contact the seller" button that did not go anywhere. Really liked the SP1 (now broken), love Amazon, hate the battery. Will be sure to order solar things with traditional size rechargeable AAA AA C or D batteries in the future. Just too much trouble otherwise and short life of light (when broken).

Actually, the battery is probably fine, but the product it goes in died in less than a year (Solar Lighthouse). It's nice that they offer the replacement battery, but the warranty on the lighthouse sucked. So I paid for a battery that didn't solve the problem and now have a lighthouse that cost over $100 that no longer works. Bummer.
