The author provides a complete and clear review of the Python programming language library. There are many examples. Python is a powerful programming language with a clean syntax and a rich library system. It is suitable for the novice and for the advanced programmer. Many large companies use it to program their operation. I believe that Amazon is one of them.The wealth of our imagination is possibly the only limit to what can be done with Python. This is an expensive book, but very much worth the money for those who want to delve deeper into Python. I have found this book informative, easy to read and to understand. I highly recommend this book to individuals who want to increase their knowledge of the Python programming language.

So glad to finally get my hands on a Python 3 version of this book. It is extremely thorough with the chapters organized by "goal" (text manipulation, HTTP communication, time/date manipulation) covering all aspects of the Python 3 standard libraries.It is a great educational tool for developers new to the language still building their skillset and a must have desktop reference for even experienced Python developers.I own many books on Python but this is the only one that covers the standard library so thoroughly. It is a real gem.

This is, in general, a good book.

I like the way this book is laid out and the examples are often helpful for me since they are arranged by library. When I am trying to get a rough idea of how I want to approach something using only the Standard Python Library, I reach for this book and a couple of others. I don't know if there is already an updated version for the more recent Python releases, but if so, I would definitely recommend getting the latest edition.

A huge number of Examples across much of the python standard library. The examples are well explained and give excellent instruction about the use of each of the libraried. The examples are themselves useful either directly or in parts for code developmen

This is much more comprehensive than I had expected. It makes a reasonable reference book. It not something I will read cover to cover.

Indispensable for Python programmers. I find myself consulting this book before looking at 3rd part libraries to see if the standard library has what I’m looking for. Brought it to the office and now I have to chase down the other Python programmers to get it back.
