Q: are they harmless for any bird or any other non-human animal? My intention is to trap them and relocate them

This trap is safe for birds and animals the size of pigeons or larger, but can be dangerous for smaller birds

Q: Does this have to be secured to the ground? Or can it be effectively used on concrete, like a patio?

I have a pidgeon and dove problem. I set this trap on the ground, unsecured. The first time the trigger was tripped, there were two doves caught. I guess they were both pecking at the bait seeds when one of them hit the trigger. The trap held them securely in such a way that they couldn't fly so there was no need to attach it to the ground. I see no reason it wouldn't work the same way on concrete.
