Gorgeous and impressive sound for price
I wish I had option to give 3.5 stars for sound quality because 3 is too harsh. I’m an audiophile so I’m more critical than most casual listeners. It has deep base, though not especially tight. It’s mids are very good, highs aren’t super crisp but not too bright like I’d expect in a cheap speaker. Guitar and horns come out quite well. Blues & jazz excel on the Tewell. I have it wired to my Eufy Genie smart speaker in kitchen and Bluetoothed from my main system in the living room. Impressive build quality and I think the unit is gorgeous in real life. Easily worth $60. Note I paid $30 for the AC version which I use. Gifted 2 rechargeable versions to family, 1 for $30 & another a crazy $20. At those prices these babies are worthy of 5 stars. I tested both versions side by side and from that their sound quality seemed identical. I also compared them to Marshal Kilborn speaker. Of course they are not nearly as good however they go almost as loud and are about as good looking. The Kilborn’s regular price is $300. It’s the best Bluetooth speaker I’ve ever heard but it’s not 5 or 6X better. I own a Fender Newport as well, a $200 mono speaker. That too is in the range of the Kilborn’s quality but not several times better than the Tewell as it’s price would indicate. I own cheaper BT speakers too, as well as a fairly high-end surround system(Yamaha Aventage AVR, Pioneer Elite & Polk speaker’s(9.2) Oppo BDP, Akai(made in Japan)turntable, tube buffer preamp, etc). I have Sony surround sound & DVD-Audio player in my bedroom, Yamaha SRT1000 soundbase in another room plus various other sound systems. I have a dozen pair of headphones and a couple amps. A have a substantial collection of DVD-A, SACD, Blu~ray-A, vinyl, and of course DVD & BD videos. I remember when CDs first came out and copying them onto chrome and metal tapes on my fancy cassette deck that had Dolby B, C, & S NR, as well as dbx & Dolby HX Pro thatspunded vastly superior to store bought albums on cassette. I’ve been searching for that perfect sound ever since I remember. My point is I have a clue, and I’m not misleading anyone here. Some folks get confused with tech and therefore may not be getting the best out the devices. For instance, this, as most will, sounds better wired than Bluetooth. It’s also important to make sure to have the volume maxed out, or at least high on the BT source device, such as a phone. Otherwise volume and overall sound quality are sacrificed. Sound is effected by the quality of source device. Poor BT transmission will diminish the performance of any BT speaker. Low grade MP3 files won’t sound better just because they’re played loudly. I suspect that some of the more negative reviews on the Tewel are due to simply not realizing certain aspects such as I mentioned. No this speaker is not an audiophile’s dream but it is good. The sound is decent and even at $60 I doubt anything else sounds significantly better and in my opinion nothing at less than $100 looks better. I do believe that with most retro inspired speakers you are paying for looks over sound quality and some, perhaps most, are absolute crap. This speaker is well built, has a higher-end vibe to it and sounds almost as good as it’s appearence. Be aware it’s a full, reasonably rich sound that carries throughout the house even at moderate volume. Excellent companion for smart speakers. The rechargeable version can be left plugged in by the way and it comes with a detachable wall wart too.

Koop retro sound, uncool retro sound
Cool retro look, uncool retro sound quality. No matter how many 5 star ratings a product has, you can never tell if something is really good till you realize you should not have bought it. After searching for “speaker for Echo Dotand hitting in this I found the many many 5 star reviews for this Tewell speaker. He price was right but the speaker sounds like junk. Sending back. I suggest you pay a bit more to get something that you will never ask yourself, why did I buy that that speaker?

Retro Really Well Done!
I am way impressed at how the manufacturer got not only the retro look but the feel just right! The switches are metal and click convincingly, The vinyl upholstery and fabric is heavy. My dad was an electrician, and we had a lot of 60s/70s electronics around the house and workshop. This speaker took me back to a clunkier time. I am using the speaker in a small space and it certainly puts out enough sound. I am very pleased with my new little gadget.

This speaker is an example of a great product and well worth Its price point
As a hobby, I collect bluetooth speakers and radios with bluetooth. This speaker is an example of a great product and well worth Its price point. Sound quality for the discerning audio file would put this speaker in the mid range category but it sure makes that up with the punch it gives once the volume is turned up. This retro looking sleeper hides its boom-box well, but it can go full on party if called on.

Doesn't work for long, but good sound while it worked
I purchased this speaker several months ago and loved using it and the sound of this little speaker was great. The battery life was not what I expected but it was fine. Then the battery stopped working and even when plugged in it doesn't work. I guess I get what I pay for. This is pretty inexpensive but I think it should last longer than a few months.

Tin Can Speaker
The technology and design is as advertised. I really like that, but the sound is so disappointing. I wasn’t looking for an expensive, high quality sound. Yes, it has bass when needed. However, it sounds like the speaker is inside of a tin can otherwise. Very very disappointed. This is designed for features and look. Not sound quality.

Great accessory for the price
I use this primarily for bluetoothing to my Echo dot. I'm was easy to pair and reconnects quickly every time I turn it on. The sound quality is very good, not great, but it does really well for its size. I would recommend this to anyone in the market for an add on speaker
