What Every 2nd Grade Teacher Needs to Know About Setting Up and Running a Classroom First Edition

I purchased this book as a first time teacher so that I could learn what my second graders would be learning. It’s actually a great book and teaches you the basics, however, if your school provides curriculum (which it should), then you don’t necessarily need this book. Find out what you’re actually teaching before purchasing.

Reading this book again and again. Perfect if you are changing grades and getting back into second or in second for the first time. Awesome hints and helps. Thank You.

I love this book because it breaks down not only academically what a second grader is "like", but also emotionally and behaviorally, too. There are great ideas in here to get your mind going for organizing your classroom and supplies.

Very helpful! I bought this for a family member who switched to teaching 2nd after teaching 3rd grade for 14 years. She found it interesting and used ideas out of it.

I am a big fan of Responsive Classroom but whoever said that experienced teachers would benefit from this book was WRONG! This book is everything that they teach you in Responsive Classroom courses and workshops. There is nothing new in this book. It doesn't delve deeply into anything either. It's just a broad overview of many things. Very disappointing book. I'm going to give it to a new teacher in my school.

A perfect book for teachers starting 2nd grade for the first time, especially if switching grades! Or for teachers who want to brush up on what 2nd graders need!
