Worked for about an hour before it cooked itself useless- not a good value at the low price
Macbook Pro Charger, 60W Magsafe Power Adapter Charger for MacBook and 13-inch My new dog destroyed my old cord this weekend and I figured I could get away with buying cheap to replace because my last cord had also been cheap and, although a bit flimsy, held up overall until it met my dog.My new cord showed up today and was clearly also flimsy and had a very soft cord, but giving it the benefit of the doubt I plugged it in to a surge protected outlet and connected it to my laptop. It started charging as expected and I went to make some lunch. When I came back into my office there was a noticeable hot plastic smell and I could feel that the box on the charger was almost too hot to touch and where the plug-in cord connected it was slumping down in an alarming way. I immediately unplugged it from the wall and disconnected it from my Macbook. The Macbook seems unhurt and actually mostly charged up. However the charger itself is now useless because the box/connection got so hot while plugged in that the copper female contacts in the cord had disconnected entirely fromit and stuck to the male contacts in the power box. I'm grateful I didn't leave this unattended any longer than I did and am a little shocked at how lousy the quality of this unit was. Considering that I got ALMOST one charge out of it before it cooked itself and became an impending fire danger (in my eyes), this is a definite 1 star review from me.Pics attached: there doesn't seem to be any visible burning or anything, it just got REALLY hot- you can see the copper females that are supposed to be in the end of the cord are now permanently affixed to the male nodes in the power box.

Seems OK
The wiring on my original Apple charger finally broke after more than five years of steady use. This new charger so far (after a few months) seems to work as well as the original.

I like the fact that this adapter does not take up ...
Finally received the correct product from a reliable shipper! Product was shipped and delivered fast. I like the fact that this adapter does not take up much room, and it works!

Died in under 6 months
The charger worked fine for awhile. Sometimes the box would get i little warm. Then this morning it stops working. Did not even last 6 months before it died.

It's junk, total and complete junk
It's a piece of garbage. It died after less than 2 months of use and now I am left to buy a new one. We purchased a second one and it has gone bad too. Total garbage, buy a different brand.

Good charger. I recently bought a refurbished 2009 MacBook ...
Good charger. I recently bought a refurbished 2009 white MacBook and the third-party charger it came with was getting really hot, and the old square magsafe chargers are annoying to plug in since they take up so much room around the outlet. The battery was also dying very fast. I anticipated this with an older machine, but it would literally drop from 90% to 80% in 15 minutes. I read somewhere about downloading coconutbattery to help figure out if the problem is with your battery or with your charger. Sure enough, coconutbattery said the battery was in good shape, which I found hard to believe. Before buying a new one, I figured I'd try this charger (since I need something longer and easier to plug in when I bring my computer to school). It actually seems to be helping with the battery life, and the computer doesn't get nearly as hot when it's charging. Highly recommend.

AVOID
After 3 months of moderate use, the head of the adapter (where it connects to the computer) is disconnecting from the wire. It SPARKED today. Thank god it didn't fry my laptop. Disappointed with this purchase. AVOID this charger.
