National Geographic Traveler: Dominican Republic, 2nd edition Paperback – March 15, 2011

Cant go wrong with the pictures and information in the National Geographic books. One of the few I brought along on my 4 month stay in the DR.You'll love everything about this book.

This is a great guide to the country and provides a fairly comprehensive overview of activities and other resources that are important to travel. The photos are wonderful and help to give a sense of the island. Many of the references can be further explored online for more detailed explanations.

Helpful details. A bit out-of-date. Several recommended places don't exist any more.

I am an adict of other travel guides but this met my expectations with full color and lots of detail to make for a wonderful visit to this island paradise.

I'm pretty disappointed with this guide compared to other National Geographic guides. In trying to put my finger on why, I think it's primarily because it's very light on practical tourist info, plus there's absolutely no "voice" to the writing. No opinions about what to see or what to avoid, no insider tips...just page after page listing what it is and what's nearby. By just listing facts and figures, it makes it very difficult to decide what to see or prioritize your itinerary. Overall I was very disappointed.

We travel a lot and read a lot of travel books. This was probably the worst travel book I have used. The information was not organized well and was hard to find later. We loved DR!

Good quality paper, comprehensive, NG style pictures! I bought it used, but as brand new!It will give you an idea of what you should expect in DR. I would recommend!

The price was right, the delivery on time, the only problem I had, because of my age, was the smaller print
