The Best CSA+ Book on the Market
I have copies of the other two CSA+ books on the market and I think this one is organized in the most logical and concise manner. The way the authors explain each topic really helps you understand the material as you go along. I took the CSA+ test last week and passed the exam, mainly with the help of this book and the Transcender practice tests. The only thing I wish the book would have touched on more was how to read various kinds of logs, but CompTIA expects test candidates to already have several years of experience. When you take a CompTIA exam the answers aren't easy to find, you have to do a process of elimination, but the material in this book helps you to understand the material enough to eliminate the incorrect answers.

Passed my exam!
I want to say that I did pass my exam and that this book was a great "part" of the tools that made that possible. The book covers a lot of material that you need to know pretty in depth. I also used CertMaster from Comptia which is a pretty comprehensive in addition to using some of the tools hands on that were suggested.Let me say that the test questions from the book are not the kind you find on the test - the questions from the book let you know if you have that material mastered or if you need to continue to review. The test questions are more an OVERALL of the book, Certmaster and the tools in an applicable senarios. The book would also be a great purchase for just in house knowledge or personal learning if you are in the field or considering moving towards it.

The book so far is good, like half of the book have already read
The book so far is good, like half of the book have already read. Not very deep in concepts but the lecture is easy and not boring or dense, i think the coverage so far is good and very similar to other materials. I already saw a couple of times the videos from PluralSight of CSA+ and the coverage is very similar in content and analysis.Haven't try yet the practice exams that come with it in the CD, but the book all in all seems to be good study material. As always try to not have only one source of study material for this or any other certification, combine and search for more even if is not oriented to the certification will work for it, for example Wireshark tutorials, videos, Snort documentation, Nmap books, etc pretty much all is free over internet and youtube.

Could be all you need if......
I just took the CSA+ exam and passed by a comfortable margin. I have worked at a firewall company for the last 2+ years so I deal with a lot of the material covered everyday. That being said I only used this book and it's practice exams as my study material. While the book might seem lite at first it does go over all aspects of the exam. As other reviewers have pointed out it does not go into great detail on how to read logs and scans. Since this is not an entry level exam it is expected that you have some experience with these tools. If you meet the CompTIA recommendations for the exam this book should be all you need.

Decent book
Update: I passed my test on the first try. I ended up going through this book about four times total as part of my own study method. I would not solely rely on this book for studying. The other CySA+ books are more detailed and better organized in my opinion.Previous: I’ve read this book once so far, but will end up reading it another two times before my test. It’s probably the shortest of the three books available for the CSA+ right now. It gets into each objective and moves on pretty quick. I would say it’s a decent book. It is a great complement for the other books for explaining topics the others may not have explained as well.

Fair supplement, but is lacking in detail...
Well, I took the exam today, and barley passed despite being able to nearly recite this book's contents word-for-word, and completely exhausting the CertMaster course. While the book does indeed touch on every topic (in an extremely abbreviated form), it is kinda stretching things to call itself "All-in-One." As another poster pointed out, where it summarizes the major tool set a CSA must be familiar with, it does not go into any amount of detail (the standard disclaimer is "this is only a jumping off point, the rest you must go find on your own"). Particularly how to read various logs... there is absolutely nothing (I have been in IT for nearly two decades, but am not a coder). I realize that multiple sources of info are generally required, but this book is in no way "All-in-One." A good supplement, but not the main course. I am going to try some other books for a more comprehensive oversight on what I missed learning from this one.

Best resource I've seen for this particular certification
Best resource I've seen for this particular certification. Yes, I did take the official certification materials (though only watched about 1h of the videos - which are terrible). This book and the cbtnuggets videos made this huge amount of material digestible. Excellent resource. Earned my cert on 8/20/17, so I write with some knowledge.

Used this book to cram for a month for the beta exam and passed!
I love this series! I used this book to study for about a month when I found out I would be able to take the beta exam for $50, so I crammed. I also watched some training videos online to supplement but ended up passing the beta exam by 3 points, so not too bad for cramming! Was a good resource!
