If you are dealing with open channel flow and need to perform the calcs, you will need this. Solid reference material.

If anyone works with or uses flumes in their daily hydraulics applications, this is a great book to have. The beginning of the book has a brief runthrough of hydraulics of flumes and the remainder of the book contains the tables. They refer to the flume manufacturer "Plati-Fab" to derive the tables, but it is much simplier to refer to this manual than to determine which equation to use and solve for Q or H. Another good thing about this flume is that it has some discussion regarding submerged flumes which if encountered can be problematic.Overall, this is a good book to have for anyone working with hydraulics and flumes.

If you're in the water or wastewater monitoring industries, you should get a copy of this for general reference. It's published by Teledyne Isco, a leader in the environmental sampling and flow metering markets, so they know what they're talking about. This latest edition has been updated to contain information on both well-established and new flow measurement methods.Most useful are the discharge tables that cover about all the types and sizes of primary devices you might find in the field. In this new edition, they've backfilled the tables to include values below recommended ranges of certain primary devices. This is a handy reference that used to be in earlier editions but disappeared for a while, so if you've been holding on to an older edition, you should update now.The book also describes open channel flow measurement, different types of weirs and flumes, how to select and install primary measuring devices, use of the Manning formula (and its limitations), and a discussion of area velocity flow measurement, including pulse Doppler. Over 500 pages of useful information; some of it's just a general overview, but other sections are more detailed.
