but the third was amazed at how well it worked
I usually don’t bother with writing reviews, but thought I should this time. Let me start by saying this dose not work for everybody. I bought it because I knew 3 people with hearing loss that hearing aids weren’t working for them. Of those 3, 2 didn’t think it was helping much, but the third was amazed at how well it worked! That person has let her sister, who could not hear, try them-and she was amazed! Speechless even. Btw, the first person that it worked for had recently spent $4000.00 dollars on hearing aids and still couldn’t hear! Now she can! So for my little experiment, I am at 50% success rate. Not bad in my opinion for a $35 investment. And an FYI for those reading this, I was also experimenting with Petralex. That is a free hearing aid app for you smart phone or tablet. The 2 people that were not helped by the bone conducting hearing aid were hearing great with that app and a cheap ($30.00) headset. Of those 2, both had high dollar hearing aids. One says the app is much better than their hearing aids, and the other said it worked as good as if not better than her $4000.00 set of hearing aids! Thought I would share for those of you trying to hear again!

Also the cord was super short on one side of the headphones and very ...
I was really excited about this since my daughter has single-sided conductive hearing loss, but it did not work at all. The only thing it amplified was the sound of the unit rubbing up against my shirt. Also the cord was super short on one side of the headphones and very long on the other.

Adequate for enjoyment listening - not suitable as an aid for hearing impairment.
We had hopes of this being useful as an aid for a hearing-impaired(!) person, but sadly, it was not able to help.It was not the fault of the unit. The type of impairment is truly the culprit, and the unit performs adequately for simple listening. The mis-matched wire lengths, complained about by some, were designed so that the power unit can be comfortably clipped at one shoulder instead of dead-center. It *does* require that the unit be charged or attached, as the vibrations needed to transmit the sound to the bones does, indeed, require more "juice" than your typical earbuds.

What's up with the cord lengths?
Pros:This thing does what it is supposed to do. My wife with single-sided hearing loss/sudden deafness can hear the TV much better with these. She preferred this over a much more expensive solution involving an iPhone and Bluetooth bone-conducting headphones. The microphone is very sensitive.Cons:The left and right headphone cords are wildly different lengths. This needs to be fixed. The on-off and volume controls are a bit small and fiddly. The headband is difficult to adjust when new and doesn't fit very firmly.

Works for my conductive hearing loss.
These really work. I have total conductive hearing loss on one side and nine months until I can (hopefully) have surgery to repair the hearing bones with prosthetics. The cord lengths are weird, but the headset is adjustable enough that I can get at leas one of the speakers into a good position on the deaf side (I find that behind the ear is better) and the microphone/amplifier does an excellent job of picking up and delivering sound to the speakers. I can hear more with this than I can with my other "good" ear alone.

Dont bother
This is basically a speaker that presses against your head. It works about as you would expect. sure you can kinda hear and make out sounds but not really useful for anything.
