I didn't realize these are three different books at first, until I received it and my daughter was pleasantly surprised to find this out! This is a great little series for second grade level readers, she had read one of these books back in second grade, but still remembered it and wanted this book, really based on nostalgia and good memories! Review: Great Book for 3 year old - My little girl loves this series.

The Otto and Uncle Tooth books are a classic. I started reading these to my son and daughter when they were 3, which seems a bit young considering the reading level is 2nd or 3rd grade, but they were entirely captivated by the series. Boogle Bay is a charming and quaint place with lots of adventures to behold. I have read this 3 for 1 so many times that the book has fallen apart and I have had to staple each individual story together again. The 4 best books of the series so far are the 3 in this book and "The Pirate Ghost mystery." I just ordered the new one, "the mystery of the Riverboat Robber."

Mysteries that keep kids entertained
I read this book aloud to my five year old and she couldn't get enough! Surprisingly, my two year old son sat for the stories too (they are long), but he was also captivated by them. The stories are great; enough mystery and excitement to keep the kids (and myself) interested, but not too scary for them. This is a great book choice for boys! For anyone bothered by smoking references, they do mention uncle tooth's pipe a few times. Lots of great picture in the book too...these are great to bridge the gap between picture books/early readers and chapter books.

Uncle Tooth and all their friends in this great compendium of 3 different adventures
My little Sophia and Olivia are enchanted by Otto, Uncle Tooth and all their friends in this great compendium of 3 different adventures, or mysteries, for tots! Auntie Hick, Sid Rat, Ducky Doodle and even Olivia (!) have many escapades, solving mysteries and coming out wiser and happier than ever. The reading is easy enough for my pre-schooler to get involved in, and the adorable characters (beautifully drawn) are sometimes scary (but not too scary!) and always lovable. My girls really got into Otto & Uncle Tooth's adventures, and can't wait for another in the series. Highly recommended!
