Very good setup for my toms...would have been five stars..
First I would knock off half a star only if I could because the round black center patch started to come off on two heads within a day. Is this a huge issue...nope but I will ding it since it did not stay on completely in less than a day. I just removed it but still...seems a bit cheesy.Other than that very minor issue I love them on all my toms. Since I came from an Alesis crimson set using mesh as a practice pad is not an issue. I can still get enough sound out of the toms to hear them without it projecting beyond my music room. I adjusted the tension just a bit for my preference and have been very pleased. I combined these with a set of low volume cymbals from Thomann and my wife is happy not to be drowned out from practice. Now I agree with another reviewer that they did not work well on my snare. The snare sound was dead...basically just the sound of the stick hitting mesh basically. I since put the 14” rtom on my 14” floor Tom and got an Aquarian super pad for the snare and I agree...that is better to me.For the bass I don’t use anything to muffle it as my wife is not bothered by the bass drum so I can’t say how they work.if you are unsure if you will like it on a snare and you have a 14 Tom just get one head and test it first on the snare...if you don’t like it toss it on the Tom and get an Aquarian. These are too pricey too just toss in the ever growing pile of tried and tossed drum accessories.

A solid deal
This is one of the better choices available for sound reduction..especially easy to install and the mesh heads offer decent sound dynamics. Very well made ..My main gripe is that tone quality varies between heads . For instance I have two 14” heads ..one for the snare and one for my floor tom..one has a less defined tonal reproduction than the other. That is light of using the accompanying tuning key. I landed on using Tama Sound Rings as they best allow for true playing dynamics and overall sound quality but are much louder. I still use the Blackholes for late night practices

Excellent Practice Solution
These are really great for quiet practice without sacrificing the feeling of hitting actual drums. The response is pretty close to the feel of a real drum head & the tension can be changed by a turnbuckle located under the mesh head. The bass drum pad is held in place by 3 adjustable bungee cords that can be left on the drum when you aren’t using the pad. The tom pads fit right over the metal hoops of the drums. They are quite easy to add & remove.

awesome
quick to apply and remove, decent feel/action, great for replicating rim shots, QUIET. Very nice. Have Black Holes for the entire 6-piece kit, and the 16" and 22" are a little loose but get the job done for practice.

Pretty alright for practicing
Tho the feel isn’t quite like an actual drumhead, these are great for practicing without disturbing neighbors etc. Definitely cuts the volume back.
