## Description

The perfect gift for the aquarium enthusiast in your family! This simple to use brine shrimp hatchery is ideal for the hobbyist, science fair student, teacher, or aquarist who treats their fish to the occasional live treat. No aeration required! "Just wanted to send a quick note on how happy I am with your Brine Shrimp Hatchery Dish. The dish is performing as you stated and it works without a pump! I find the dish to be a perfect fit for my needs and very easy to use." J.L. Los Angeles ""We first saw this brine shrimp egg hatchery in Kowloon, Hong Kong and were instantly intrigued by its strange shape. With some misgivings about the functionality of the "breeding dish," I brought it home and tried it. I was amazed at the results in 24 hours! With absolutely no aeration, air tubing, or heat, my yields were as good as if I had used a more elaborate set-up. With a premeasured charge of about 0.4 grams of dry cysts, the Hatchery Dish yielded over 100,000 baby brine shrimp. A particularly nice feature of the shallow, dish-like shape of the Hatchery is the naturally occurring separation of the newly hatched nauplii (baby brine shrimp) from shells and unhatched egg - resulting in a very clean harvest. No siphoning or net is required. This is truly a great product for hobbyists!"" HATCHERY DISH INSTRUCTIONS Instructions: The Hatchery Dish provides the aquarium hobbyist with a simple, effective way to harvest and directly feed clean (i.e. without shell) quantities of newly-hatched, live baby brine shrimp (nauplii). Required: You will need either aquarium salt, sea salt, or baking salt, along with clean tap water or distilled water and a separate one-liter or quart-sized container to prepare the hatching solution. You will also need a warm well-lit area where the Hatchery Dish can be left undisturbed for 24 hours. No aerator is required with the Dish. Because of the shallow depth of the water, there is sufficient oxygen exchange at the water surface. Prepare Hatching Solution: In a separate container, dissolve 25 grams of salt (equal to one and two-thirds level tablespoons, or 5 level teaspoons of fine or medium grain salt) into one liter (approx. one quart) of fresh tap water or distilled water at room temperature (preferably 70⁰-80⁰F). Set up Hatchery: Place the bottom portion or basin of the Hatchery Dish in a warm area with lighting where it can be left undisturbed for 24 hours. An overhead incandescent light is ideal for providing both light and extra warmth. Fill Dish with Hatching Solution to the fill-line indicated on the inside of basin. Place concentric white ring divider in center of Dish. Place mesh cup in center of Dish. Using the small spoon included with Dish, sprinkle one to two heaping spoonfuls of brine shrimp eggs (artemia cysts) on top of the water around the outermost area of the ring divider. Do not stir the eggs into the water. Carefully place lid on Dish. Position lid so that the mark (arrow) on lid is in the “closed” position. Let stand for 24-28 hours. Depending upon the room temperature, the brine shrimp should begin hatching in about 24 hours. Harvest: Nauplii are phototactic. As the brine shrimp begin to hatch, the nauplii will swim to the light in the center of the Dish. You can extract the nauplii from the Dish as they accumulate in the mesh sieve. It is common to harvest multiple times from the Dish in a 48-hour period. Clean: When the supply of nauplii appears to be exhausted, dump the shell and remaining un-hatched egg and clean Dish with hot water. Periodically use a light chlorine solution to disinfect the Dish and other parts.

Review: Easy to use - Being a first time mum to 1000’s of Axolotl’s I found it easy to make brine shrimp with one of these
Review: So easy and practical! - I've always been hesitant at using baby brine shrimp to feed my fish because I always felt it was too complicated for something you have to do over and over again. I saw that thing recommended in a random video and honestly I have no regrets buying this! It's very easy to set up and to clean (I just rince with hot tap water). It's also very easy to harvest the brine shrimp with the tiny spoon/net, and there's almost no eggs collecting in the middle when set up correctly. What's cool too is that it's small and slim, and all black so you can put it almost anywhere and it's not ugly, it's perfect for people with a small home that don't have a dedicated fish room. I used the little hole on the side to put an airline tubing to add a small amount of water movement / oxygenation, hoping it would help them hatch / live longer, but the first few times I used it I didn't do that and a LOT of brine shrimp hatched anyway! I use it to feed my bettas, baby bettas, baby medakas and my community tank and everyone is super happy. Very cool thing and great tool! I do think it's expensive for what it is, but the design is very good and I still recommend it!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So easy and practical!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Efficient hatchery design — No aerator needed
*by S***A on 23 June 2026*

This Brine Shrimp Hatchery Dish offers a streamlined setup process: it relies solely on light exposure to trigger hatching, eliminating the need for an air pump or aerator typically required by conventional hatching methods. This makes it a low-maintenance option for hobbyists who want to skip the extra equipment. Hatch density was consistently abundant across batches, with nauplii remaining viable and active for harvesting over a two-to-three day window — a solid margin for staggered feedings rather than a single-use hatch. The built-in mesh filter/strainer makes collection straightforward, allowing you to scoop nauplii directly without needing a separate net or pipette setup. I've been using the nauplii as a live food source for a mandarin dragonet (Synchiropus splendidus), a notoriously selective feeder that often refuses prepared foods, and the consistent, high-density yield has made it much easier to keep a steady supply of live prey available on demand. Build quality is solid — the materials feel sturdy and well-made, which is especially impressive given the price point. For what it costs, this dish punches well above its weight in terms of durability and functionality. Overall, a well-designed, fuss-free hatchery dish that delivers reliable output without added complexity, at a price that makes it an easy recommendation. Pros: Light-only hatching — no aerator or air pump required Simple, beginner-friendly setup Good hatching rate Built-in filter makes harvesting nauplii quick and easy Nauplii stay viable for harvesting over 2-3 days Good quality Great value for the price Great for picky live-food feeders like mandarin dragonets
