Short, fast paced and suspense filled romance
After devouring Dirty Little Secrets, I decided to try out more of Liliana Hart's short novels. I say short because they're all around 200 pages. She is clearly a diverse writer and I enjoyed this romantic suspense. It is very likely this is a first in a series surrounding the lives of a team of ex-marines and the introduction to these honorable and loyal friends is a great start.Ex-marine sniper, ex-FBI, and current security specialist, Shane Quincy has trouble sleeping. After the events of a take down gone terribly wrong, he lost his beloved wife. He runs in the middle of the night to shake the nightmares off, but after his latest run, he returns to find his apartment building on fire. There's only one other occupant on the third floor where the source of the flames are and he runs to her rooms to find Rachel Valentine handcuffed to her bed. He ends up rescuing Rachel, but as she tries to evade his questions, he knows she's in over her head. It turns out that she is the only living daughter of a mob boss who's recently disappeared and her uncle is gunning to have her killed. Having been with the FBI, Shane is all too familiar with her family and what they're capable of and helps her in her mission to obtain evidence left to her by her father and turn state's witness to take out some very powerful and dangerous families. The action is pretty non stop with a good mix of bonding and sharing for the amount of time these two are together. The romance is not as steamy as I prefer but it works and the secondary characters are interesting and dynamic. Romantic suspense in general is pretty formulaic so you have a sense of what's going to happen, but this particular journey is not without its twists and turns. I would definitely read future installments if there is a price adjustment in the future. I have to say I'm rather surprised that this book was $3.99 for a 2650 location kindle book (The rest of the pages are previews to her other books). It really should be .99 or 1.99 at the most.

A traditional plot of its genre
This novel is pretty traditional for its genre - the ex-FBI/Cop/SEAL or whomever - fighting his own demons and then being pitch-forked into saving the hide of a woman on the run, who just happens to be gorgeous. The couple always have sex while everything is going to hell around them and there are the usual betrayals within the ranks. Fortunately, in this case the sex isn't too explicit and doesn't go for too long. The characters were likable, I didn't pick the betrayer for once and as this person received the ultimate punishment, that was okay. Well-written, fast-paced.One ploy, used in many romantic thrillers, irks me and I do wish authors would give it a miss, is the hero's penchant for calling the beautiful damsel in distress, "Sugar." The heroine didn't like either, but this didn't stop the hero.A book I read some time ago had the hero calling the heroine "Baby" and "Babe" which nearly had me abandoning the book and certainly didn't encourage me to give a good review. Knowing that in "real" life, men use generic "pet" names like these because they have so many women on their radar they are worried about using the wrong name, this is a real turn-off for me.That is the only real gripe I have. The novel is good within its genre.

I really enjoyed this book it was different, with interesting characters. I definitely would like to read whatever comes after this with the same characters. So I would recommend to read this book.

Catch me if You Can
This is an exciting suspenseful love story about Shane, an exFBI agent turned private investigator and Rachel, a mobsters daughter running for her life. Shane is haunted in his dreams about his wife's horrific death and the guilt that he caused it. Rachel his neighbor is chained to her bed and paid killers from the mob set her apartment on fire. Shane happened upon the fire and saves her. From that point on the story is nonstop action with them running for their lives from the mob that killed her father, mother & sister. It is an exciting adventure trying to tell the good guys from the bad guys while they are falling in love and having some really hot sex. This was a really enjoyable book to read and I highly recommend this romantic suspense novel.

Amazing book!
This was a great story, but I wouldn't expect any less from this author. This book kept my adrenaline pumping from beginning to end and I just wish I could bystanders little more from this amazing characters. This author has an amazing plot and character building, even secondary characters make an impression on you. Suspense, heat, emotions and drama was on point and I'm actually dad to see it come to an end.

Liked this book, good ending and good characters
Liliana Hart -- I don't think I have read any of her other works, but I enjoyed this read. The characters had depth and emotion, and were spicy at times. The story line had a good flowand kept me reading to find out what would happen next. I try not to do spoilers, but you'veprobably figured out: guy gets girl . . . or is it, girl gets guy? Read this one. I think you'llenjoy the story. I know I did.

Not bad but not good either
Well, I was quite surprised to find this book was not up the usual high standard I'm used to from this author. The general idea was good, the characters too (with minor glitches) but there were huge lapses in the chronology of events. The other thing I didn't like, which happened quite often, was the way the author started building a scene making me anticipate things and then she simply didn't follow through.

Excellent book!
Hart has done it again. Pairing Rachael and Shane was a stroke of genius. Both their individual, as well as their relationship character arcs, are intricately woven to bring out the best, and worst, in both of the main characters. The story moves along at a good pace and I found myself turning pages into the night as I ran for my life right along with them. Keep them coming, Ms. Hart.

disapointed!!!
There is action from the start of this book and it starts a pace for the rest of it, i thought it was a good read full of action and great characters but you knew who the really bad guy was from the beginning, there was a snitch in the fbi so the baddies caught up with them continuously and it was a cat and mouse chase most of the way through and when the fbi snitch was revealed it wasnt much of a suprise as id already guessed who it was, it was pretty obvious. The reason i only gave 3* was because of the lack of romance was disapointing, there was a small bit of romance but it was very very mild and nothing hot like LHs Mackenzie series. As the start of a new series there wasnt much linking the other characters with the main characters and it felt to me as if it wasnt going to be part of a series so im not sure how the next book will start or even if i want to read the next installment.

great read
This was a fantastic read another hit from hart. The similarities and lifestyle of Shane and rachel made it ideal for them to find and fall in live with each other. They helped heal each other and I am glad in the end they git their happy ever after. The build up in the join of violence, suspense and mystery kept me reading from beginning to end and the scenes were tame compared to what I am used to from hart but they reflect the style of the book.

Running till the end
Different in some ways to Ms Hart's writing in that it is far less steamy and yet, the suspense and danger which is always laced through her work is telltale. Two strong and damaged characters who both need saving but refuse to admit that they need help, make for an interesting read.It is filled with drama and suspense till the end.

ACTION FROM THE START
Unlike most of the novels i read, Liliana Hart started the book cutting straight to the chase (Literally) and you are not disappointed. The book has twists you don't see coming and you will not be putting the book own until you find out what happens next.
