I purchased this to lay out odd shapes in floor tiles. Although I have used it only once, it has already saved me a lot of second cuts. It is steel, and as long as you don't try to use it as a prybar or to open paint cans, it should last a long time. The numbers are easy to read in low light, which is good, because there is never enough light back in the corners. It comes with a nice bag, which helps to keep it clean, although the bag will probably be a casualty or get lost in the shuffle.

This product arrived quickly in a couple of days. It is made of steel and very durable. I wished I had this tool for my last woodworking project. I had many unusual angles and this measuring device enables constructing angled templates easy and repeatable. It comes in a nice cloth pouch which protects the instrument and I even like the two ended carpenters pencil. It is black on one end and red on the other! It is simple to use and configure to aid measurements. I have used it to measure: drywall cut-outs for angled ceilings and kayak ribs. I can't wait for my next project.
