overall this thing is good. although it broke when my cat jumped over it and knocked it over. it was easy to fix but still frustrating. also both dogs have learned they can push the sides so if they really want upstairs it’s not hard for them to bypass. it works i’d say 70% of the time, but i still wish we went with something more fixed

Poorly made. The first gate I ordered came cracked, so it was returned. I've not had the second gate but a month and the first time it gets knocked over (which should be expected since it is freestanding) it breaks to the point of not being able to use the walk through gate. It is a very nice looking gate, which is why I chose it, but it just is not crafted very well. Looks like I'll be having to buy an ugly gate that I know is going to withstand a little bit of force.

This was perfect for blocking off my kitchen from the dog (who will eat the cat food). It looks nice, is a good color, and the wood seems to be high quality. The gate is great and the way the hinges go either direction is very convenient. It folds up nicely and I can store it out of sight in the closet as needed. I even take it outside as a makeshift gate for the deck on nice days (but not to leave outside). This was pricier than other options but I feel it was certainly worth the money.

I have bought 2 of these gates and they have come in useful for what I need them for. However the second gate I am starting to notice has quite a few imperfections. Also, on one side of the gate the screws are stripped and after time it hard to keep the one end in tact. Shame on me for not looking this over more but for $200+ I though the quality would be a bit better.

Gate seemed fine and would probably do its job however, both gates sent to us had substantial cracks in the wood which would only grow in time. Not worth the 180.00 price tag if it cant be delivered in one piece. I do not think this was a delivery issue. I think this is how the manufacturer packed it. Thank goodness for Amazon return policies.
