Chef Tastic Steamer Basket for Easier Food Preparation

Turns a regular pot into a functional steamer. Easy to clean or put in dishwasher. Hated my old stainless steamer insert cause it was hard to clean. Highly recommend this if you like to steam food!

I liked the basket, but the divider is not what i that it was going to be, It works great without the divider and will hold a family size portion. the divider would be great for a baby if you had small teeny tiny pieces.

This steam basket can put nice size to steam 3 different food items in 1 time.The handle i give a 2 star because it is not make very good otherwise I give the rest 5 star

The typed paperwork that came with this said it might stain, and, surprisingly, included a separate Arbitration Agreement.The product itself is a stiffer and sturdier silicone than other products I’ve received. So, I’m not at all sure it’s food-grade BPA free. Neither the listing, nor question the seller answered, nor included paperwork will state that.So, I wondered if this might be a knock-off of what looks almost identical in the Avokado brand? When I wrote the seller about it, they responded that this one might be the original product.I so wanted the divider! With Avokado, they have the same size basket, but theirs includes the divider only with the slightly larger size. Order small, you’ll get this size, but you’ll get no divider. Order 6 qt., and you’ll get the small, along with a very slightly larger basket — appearing almost the same size — which contains the divider that can, also be used to support the ‘stacked’ smaller basket. Surely, the divider could fit in the smaller basket, too, but Avokado, sadly, doesn’t sell it separately.Avokado’s system allows for stacked cooking in 6 qt. cookers. But, as I so wanted the divider, too, so I thought it’d be worth trying this Chef Tastic one.Besides the rather stiffness, vs. suppleness of most BPA free silicone, I’ve experienced, the only difference I can see is that the handles on this one are on the outside of the basket, while the handles on the Avokado brand are inside the basket. Could it be might that one of them is a knockoff? With Avokado, too, however, they sell other products, while with Chef Tastic, I couldn’t find any.Even Overstock.com, selling this basket, says it’s microwave safe (with the metal it can’t be), as well as doesn’t mention BPA grade silicone. With Avokado, there’s an insert that plainly states “non-microwavable”In the end, not having the assurance, anywhere, in writing that it’s BPA (food grade) free, feeling the stiffer sides, reading that it’ll stain, and having the included Arbitration Agreement all made me leery... It might be just fine. But I’m sending this one back.Very sadly, I’m a little wary...

I should have paid better attention to the sizing. I thought it was taller (8quart) but it fits more appropriately in my 6 qt pressure cooker. Still works for my needs though

This is so versatile. We use t mainly in our Instant Pot. We have steamed three veggies at one time - for example carrots, potatoes, and green beans. Fast and easy. We also use it to hard cook eggs in our instant Pot. Just set the eggs in the steamer, lower into the pot, Steam cook them , then lift the steamer out and set in a large bowl of cold water to cool the eggs. Lift out to drain. All done quick and easy. We also put a whole meal into steamer: hot dogs ( I cut them half to fit,, potatoes, and cook. One pot, quick and easy.

Hard rim, very sturdy,doesn’t flop very stable for easy handling, really like the 3 way section divider, also it’s silicone. Or use it without the divider, nice handles for easy lift out. I really like it, silicone is a nice thickness. This is a super versatile well made steamer basket. I use it in my 6 & 8 qt instant pot. Great purchase I can put couple vegetables in one pot love that.
