My 6 and 7 year old kids summited Katahdin this summer and earned these patches. I got them a benchmark paperweight as well and made a little certificate for them. This climb is hard on most adults, but they took every step and pulled themselves over every bolder. Proud dad. Cool patch. This mountain is in Baxter State Park in Maine and is the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail.
