Review: It is exactly as advertised. - This cute little Boombox is just what I need & more than I expected; I absolutely love it! I haven't tried the Aux function yet but all the others work perfectly. The sound is great & I love the nicely sized & sturdy remote. The box fits nicely on my small bed stand & the handle as well as its size & lightweight makes it easy to transport. I am amazed at how everything a large Boombox has & more, was fit onto it. It's like it's little but mighty. I chose white because it's neutral & will go with most decor changes. It's well worth the very reasonable price. I had several reasons for choosing this item & I have not been disappointed which wasn't the case with a MUCH larger one I had to return.
Review: This plays just about EVERYTHING I throw at it! - Greadio CD-X2A Review This is an interesting device; it’s a CD player, a dual-band radio, an audio cassette player/recorder, a USB flash drive player and a Bluetooth receiver. These features are exactly what I was looking for! In the early 1980s (maybe starting around 1983), I purchased my first CD player deck that I had connected to my Hi-Fi system. The audio was fantastic and started to accumulate a LOT of audio CD, first by using a subscription that sent me one CD per month and I also purchased CDs at the leading music media stores, like Tower Records and Sam Goody. Before CDs, I used to go to these stores for my vinyls and pre-recorded commercial music cassetes. Prior to CDs, I collected vinyls and made recordings on cassettes using my two three-head cassette decks: an Akai and a Hitachi. I had transferred many of my CDs and vinyls to cassettes because cassettes were inexpensive even those made by TDK (my preferred brand), Maxell and Fuji; they were very rugged. Small cassette players (“walkmans”) came shortly to the audio scene. Even some of my cars had built-in cassette players as part of their audio system. CD players in cars came later, at least in my cars. Ruggedness and portability made cassette very appealing to me. CDs are also portable but I was always worried that I would get their surfaces scratched using them outdoors and when portable CD players were introduced they were huge and EXPENSIVE. It wasn’t until much later that smaller and more portable players were introduced. When Flash Drives became available, I would very frequently transfer my CD albums over to these media; the problem is that even low capacity flash drives stored too much music and these were also initially very expensive (as they are now due to AI buying all the available output from sources that manufacture memory). Along with these short-comings, I would need a portable player with a USB port that entertains using Flash Drive that contained music. For a long time these weren’t available. What’s left? I still enjoyed my audio cassettes, although brand new cassettes aren’t readily available but I was wise and invested in lots of blank cassettes, mostly D90 TDKs (perfect for recording one CD). I’m good for quite some time! I’ve also acquired many commercially produced music audio cassettes. Back to the CD-X2A “boom box” - This device plays all of my music media saved for my vinyls. I don’t mind that as I have commercial CDs of all my vinyls! In a “nut shell,” I can play all my CD, all my recorded cassettes and play all my Flash Drives INCLUDING microSD and SD memory, providing I have an adapter; all I’d need is a USB card reader! Since my preferred medium is the small rugged cassette, now I can have my cake and eat it too! Oh, did I forget that the CD-X2A also has a built-in AM/FM radio but sadly, it did leave out “ the ‘kitchen sink!’” The CD player works like any other CD players and the player can be controlled via a wireless IR infrared) controller. Unfortunately, the wireless controller controls only the CD player and Flash Drive and nothing else. This is understandable as the cassette recorder doesn’t have a solenoid mechanism and relies on a series of interconnected mechanical buttons/switches but in light of the inexpensiveness, compactness and light-weight of the CD-X2A, this is a very reasonable design for this boom box. The remote control, however, can command the CD player just like a full-featured Hi-Fi CD player. Just don’t ask about Dolby or the ability to use special formulated cassettes. This boom box is NOT meant for the die-hard audiophile! Of special note, is that the playback equalization can be set to any of these: FLAT, Classical, ROCK, POP, or JAZZ. Since my listening preference is Classical, I left it at the “Classical” setting. The equalization CANNOT be set directly on the CD-X2A itself; it REQUIRES the remote control. The cassette recorder/player works just like any cassette machine that doesn’t have a solenoid mechanism and that includes ALL similar small portable cassetter recorder/players The built-in radio can tune in AM bands with its internal antenna. For the FM portion, a built-in “whip” extensible antenna is provided. Tuning is done with an “analog” rotary tuning “wheel.” The frequencies are displayed digitally. So, if I need to tune to WABC AM radio (770kHz), set the AM band, and turn the tuning wheel until this frequency appears on the front LCD, ditto with the FM band. Switching radio band is done with the “FUNC” button. When “rAD” is first shown, it defaults to the AM band. Pressing the “FUNC” button again, the CD-X2A then switches over to the FM band. Using USB Flash Drive (or microSD or SD cards will require a suitable USB card reader), is as simple and plug it into the USB port when the CD-X2A is in its “UsB” mode. Since the CD-X2A is so feature rich, selection of each function couldn’t be simpler, just press the “FUNC” half of the “FUNC/REP” button on the front control “Panel” - The “FUNC”half also acts as a Power Switch. The remote control also has a “FUN” button; this can also be used to select the mode of the CD-X2A. By successive pressing of the “FUNC” button, cycles through all the modes of operation and the modes are displayed seriatim on the CD-X2A’s LCD: “rAD” for radio, “Cd” for the CD player and “Usb” to use Flash Drives. With both CD and Flash Drive modes, track selection can be done either with the from “pause and play” rocket button OR with the wireless remote control. Select “bt” for Bluetooth paring (receiving mode only; it can’t not transmit via Bluetooth). Pairing is very simple, when in the “bt” mode, ensure that the “transmitter” device, e.g., an iPhone is in Bluetooth pairing mode. The iPhone will detect the CD-X2A and show that it is connected to the CD-X2A. “7AP” is for the cassette recorder, “AUH” for connection to the 3.5mm input jack on the back of the boom box. The AUX jack accepts 3.5mm plugs that can supply the jack with an “aux” sound source, like from the headphone jack of an external player or radio. The manual clearly states that the cassette recorder CANNOT record voice as there he no built-in microphone and an externally connected microphone doesn’t provide the output level that is needed to effect correct tape recording. My guess is that an external microphone can be used BUT it would need some amplification to do that as typically, the output level of microphones is substantially lower than that provided by a “line output” source. In layman’s terms, a microphone’s output level is at least 30 to 50 times lower than a “line output” source. As a test, I did connect a powered condenser lapel microphone to the “AUH” jacket. While voice can be recorded, its volume is very low! If you want to pursue this path, be advised that you’ll need to provide amplification to increase the microphone’s gain. Note that the LCD display can’t display “T,” so “7" is used and “X” can’t be displayed as well so “H” is used. Note on the radio: Press the FUNC button to display “rAD,” the AM band is automatically selected. While STILL in the radio function, pressing the FUNC button again will switch to the FM band. The control buttons are self-explanatory so I won’t belabor how to use them. Now, I’ll “cut to the chase;” for me this is the most important feature of th Greadio CD-X2A - its ability to “transcribe” or record ANYTHING that you can play through the CD-X2A and have that be recorded onto a cassette tape! To record from the CD, play a CD and press the “PLAY” and “REC” buttons together. Whatever is on the CD will be recorded onto the cassette; you DON’T have to set the record volume. Recording a radio program is just as easy, select the “rAD” function, select the appropriate band (AM or FM), tune to the desired station. To record the radio program, press the “PLAY” and “REC” button together to commence recording. The “7AP” DOES NOT NEED TO BE DISPLAYED ON THE LCD! The CD-X2A can be in ANY mode and the cassette recorder will record anything that plays on the CD-X2A as long as you depress the “PLAY” and “REC” buttons simultaneously! The cassette recorder/player will auto-stop when the tape runs out. It WILL NOT auto-stop in the “F.FOR” or “F.REW” mode! Recording from a Flash Drive is just as easy, select the “Usb” function, plug in the Flash Drive and it will commence playing. When in ”Cd” or “Usb” mode, You can select the “track” using the rocker “pause/play” switch or via the wireless remote control. With the remote control, you can actually select the track numerically using the numeric keypad. The audio quality is excellent and I am very pleased with its ability to play anything beautifully with it. Other than what I’ve addressed, the Greadio CD-X2A is PERFECT for my needs and coupled with its EXCELLENT tech support, it deserves a solid “5-Stars”!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A little player with good sound !
*by H***N on March 17, 2026*

Who wants a real true review from a Amazon customer without obligation of fabricating a story. The Greadio Cd Player suits my needs as a CD player. I play CD's in a bathroom as I shower and my Sony for instance would stop playing from the steam/condensation, but this unit plays on !! The drawbacks I see is the lack of good bass and you cannot pre-set radio stations but for me I can overlook those drawbacks. Sound quality is just fine for being a small unit and for the price it was worth it for my use.
